Reasonable hotel in convenient locationPosted Oct 2, 2014
Hotel was okay but staff were quite unfriendly. I wouldn't choose to stay in this hotel again.

Average accommodation in good locationPosted Jun 16, 2014
Situated in a good location, the Alloro is suitable for those who do not mind average accommodation and a very light continental breakfast. Unfortunately, the bathroom plumbing was noisy, the chairs and cushions were soiled and street noise during the night made our stay uncomfortable. I would not recommend this experience.

Nice hotel close to train station & marketsPosted Oct 25, 2013
Pros: Staff were helpful and booked tours for us.
Cons: Happy with it.
Location: Train station close by as well as leather markets. Close to main attractions and easy to walk to. Lots of restaurants close by.
Great location 10 minutes from train station. Easy to walk around the city. Found a laundromatt close by. Be careful at the train station for pickpocketers. They hang around the ticket machines and also want to 'help' you wih your luggage on the train.

Close to everything Florence has to offer.Posted Jul 21, 2012
Pros: The entrance from the main street is beautiful and I loved the big windows and shutters. The size of the room gave us plenty of space to move around.
Location: Perfect central location close to all the main sites of Florence and within walking distance to bus and train station for other excursions.
Beautiful room with lots of space. Very friendly and helpful staff who can speak English. Fantastic breakfast in stunning room - look at the ceiling! Genuine warm welcome. We loved it here and would like to return one day. Very central location, walking distance to railway station and all sites in the historic centre of Florence. Free WiFi in the room was a great convenience. Restaurants nearby serving great food. Can't fault this place.

As Eurail pass traveler, proximity to the train station is a key factor. Alloro B&B is a just a five minute stoll away and right in the heart of historic Firenze. (There's even a pedestrian tunnel that goes under the busy square adjacent to the station. The Alloro reception is a bit tricky to find as its on the 2nd floor but there is an elevator (on the left after you are buzzed through the entry gate). The staff at the Alloro were friendly and most accommodating. They watched our bags after check out and let us sit in the lobby later in the day to kill time before our late departing train. Rooms are expansive and charmingly traditional but amenties are bare bones (i.e. no conditioner, washcloths, creamer). WiFi is free but spotty. Breakfast is simple. All in all, a great choice for a short stay in one of the world's most enchanting walking cities.

Great amenities and locationPosted Jul 22, 2011
The location was wonderful and the tea and snacks in the room were a nice touch. The host was friendly and helpful and it was great to have an elevator to reach my room on the top floor. My room was a bit small, but that wasn't a problem. I highly recommend Alloro for travelers to Florence.

Different but good...clean, comfortable, heart of Florence. RecommendPosted Jul 14, 2011
I stayed at Hotel Alloro for 4 days. Well, I thought it was a hotel. It's a bed and breakfast, which means Cristian (reception) goes home at 6:00pm...which means if you're arriving late, it's not always communicated what to do in his absence (you get a a key from the neighboring hotel). That said, the room was clean, comfortable, quiet. Cristian brought breakfast to me every morning. Delicious. He was also very helpful and eager to please. The location was also amazing. Not far from the Santa Maria Novella Station, I easily found it without any help. It was in the heart of it all...and by some perfect restaurants. The internet worked well...and so did the lift. Overall a welcoming stay. I would return, yes. Chrs, JoJo
