The most excellent place to stay in FlorencePosted Apr 9, 2014
Pros: Everything .....
Cons: The lift is quite old and slow
Location: The hotel is very cental , it is on the same street as top stores such and as Gucci, Prada , Tiffianys , and close walking distance to all top sites.
Antica Torre has got to be one of the best hotels to stay in Florence . 5/5 on all catagories. Room 403 has a great view as does the roof terrace. The staff are so helpful , the great breakfast will set you up for the day . We were there to celebrate our 39th Wedding anniversary If I am ever so lucky to be taken to Florence again I hope it is oom 403 at the Antica Torre.

It's like staying with friendsPosted Mar 25, 2014
Pros: Service and location
Location: Antica Torre is very well located: you can walk everywhere, either to the museums, the Duomo or the Oltrarno, where the good restaurants are.
It's hard to describe it when your hotel is so good and so well located you don't feel like going anywhere. We arrived, got a tour of our room, then we went to the roof top ...*GASP* the best views one can wish. Florence is right there, you live in the post card! Our room was immaculate, the bed was made every night, super comfortable and quiet. The next morning I went to the breakfast room I gasped again.. what a treat! Now, when the title says, "It's like staying with friends", we meant the staff: They did not miss a detail, they knew our names, the coffee and drinks we like, they were courteous, helpful and all of them have a BIG heart. We went to every restaurant Dan told us to go and we loved all of them. Our special thanks to Latifa and Lorenzo for their genuine kindness.

Central but peacefulPosted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: Terrace and breakfast
Cons: Breakfast could be served a little earlier
Location: Very central, within walking distance of all the main sites of Florence.
Lovely, freindly hotel in a quiet but central location. Best feature is the stunning rooftop terrace, with views over the Duomo and Arno. Excellent breakfast and very pleasant staff.

Historic boutique hotelPosted Mar 9, 2014
Pros: It's character - what a treat to be able to stay in a building with such history!
Cons: During my stay, a new shop was being built in the vicinity of the hotel (Dior, no less!) and the builders started very early (7am)!
Location: The location couldn't be better - right on the river, a short walk from the Uffizi Gallery, Duomo and several museums
I had a great stay at this lovely hotel. Infused with history, this medieval tower house is situated in the heart of the city, just a moment's walk from the river and a short stroll from the Ponte Vecchio, Duomo and museums. The location couldn't be better. The hotel is small and characterful, which is great if you want to avoid the 'any-hotel' feel which can happen in larger places. There are stunning views from the dining room and rooftop bar and terrace, and the staff were very attentive and helpful. I couldn't rate this place highly enough, and have already recommended it to family and friends. I hope to be back in the not-too-distant future!

Comfortable, friendly, historic, centralPosted Feb 11, 2014
Pros: Nice view from a comfortable (superior) room. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The buffet breakfast was fair, but the juice and coffee were rather insipid. The lift allows ample time for meditation.
Location: There are one or two art galleries, museums, and churches within easy walking distance.
My wife and I were greatly impressed by this hotel, on the top three floors of a historic building centrally located and sensitively modernised. The staff were, without exception, delightful. The terrace was closed for renovation (anyway, it was February), but in summer it would be a great asset with marvellous views in all directions. Our (superior) room was comfortable and quiet, except for a rather loud church bell at 7am: the floor above us (the fifth) was being redecorated, and it is possible there could be some disturbance from heavy feet overhead when it is back in use.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect positionPosted Jan 20, 2014
Pros: Room size, location, breakfast, friendliness of staff.
Location: Surrounded by high end shops which provides plenty of opportunities to window shop! Walking distance to everything.
We stayed for 5 nights at this wonderful hotel. Our visit started with a personal tour around the facility, introducing us to our room, the balcony and bar area and the breakfast room. All common rooms had magnificent views over Florence, as did our room. The hotel is immaculately appointed and the rooms very comfortable and clean. All staff were so friendly and seemed genuinely interested to catch up with us in the mornings and evenings on our return. There was a wide selections of fruits, pastries, cereals, breads, cheese and meats for breakfast, as well as bacon, eggs and sausages if you chose. There was also unlimited access to tea and coffee during our stay. The position of the hotel was perfect for walking everywhere. I would strongly recommend this hotel and look forward to hopefully returning one day!

Go for location, not luxuryPosted Jan 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is mediocre, but the location can't be beat -- not even by more luxurious hotels. Just try to leave your inner snob at home and enjoy the terrace and beautiful surroundings.
