Passez votre chemin

Posted Mar 25, 2015

Great central hotel

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Firndlt staff, nice and central with everythign on the doorstep.
Cons: i
Location: Your straight onto the Cappelle De Medicee, restaurants and cafes right onthe doorstep. 5 mins from the cathedral, Santa Maria Novella and the station
Great hotel, right in the heart of florence. Nothing more than 10 mins walk, very helpeful staff and just a genuinely nice experience. This was our first trip to florence and the staff were great in recommending places to eat etc. So in short if you want a nice central location, which is clean, friendly and welcoming then this is the place. Were going back in september so thats the best recommendation i can give.

Mostly lovely.

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: The hotel is in a really good location. We walked it from the station in about 5 minutes, and you are only about 10 minutes from the Duomo, etc.
Cons: Breakfast.
Location: Great base from which to explore Florence. Save the galleries until mid afternoon.
Bit of a pong downstairs and in some corridors. Strangely I also smelt this in other parts of the town, so I guess Florence's drainage system needs some work. Our room was very nice. Not massive, but a large wall mirror made it seem bigger. Shower and bathroom needed a bit of a touch up, and the bath took ages to empty but the bed was comfortable, the room was very quiet and dark at night. WIFI only works in the lobby, if you can stand the whiff! Breakfast OK, nothing special and certainly not a 4 star meal.

Le luxe au coeur de Florence

Posted Feb 24, 2015

Central location close to the Church San Lorenzo

Posted Feb 10, 2015
Cons: As with a lot of Florence even during the winter there is a smell of drains or sewerage and there was always an off putting aroma inside the lobby.
Location: All of Florences major sights and sites are within 15 minutes walk.
Well positioned and elegant Hotel with large public rooms especially the Breakfast Dining Room on the first floor. Our room was on the fourth floor and we were thrilled on opening the curtains to have a unhindered view of the Duomo. Our room was large enough with a clean and spacious bathroom. Our only criticism as mentioned below would be the smell of drains in the Hotel Lobby and I suspect that this is not the fault of the hotel but the sanitation of Florence in general. During our stay in early February there was a large group of American students staying who seemed to take over the space, and the staff were aware of this in aplogising for their guests level of noise! However this did not detract from a lovely experience and would highly recommend the Astoria.

Hôtel très bien situé, mais légèrement décevant

Posted Feb 5, 2015

No Refunds

Posted Feb 4, 2015
We were unable to get to the airport due to the motorway being closed down because of an accident and missed our plane and stay at this hotel. When expedia explained what happened and asked the hotel if they would refund our money they declined to do so. Didn't even offer a credit for another time. Very poor customer service.
