City very centralPosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Location and terrace
Cons: Noise reduction of toilets/showers between rooms
Excellent location, lovely roof top terrace. Recommended. Top of stairs as described in the Hotel description.

Great staff. Narrow steps to reach the hotel; it is a bit of a hike up. Great rooftop terrace spoiled by single choice of cheap Mexican beer to drink. New, clean, basic and likable.

Great find if you dont mind the stairs.Posted Dec 18, 2012
Pros: Location for the price
Cons: While it didnt really bother us...the stairs are no fun when you've been walking all day sightseeing.
Location: Just a few minutes walk away from the Duomo and most of the sights. Felt very safe.
Nice little find about 5 minute walk from the main sights. Nothing spectacular but a cheap room in a safe area. Do not stay if climbing stairs is not your thing. We didnt mind, even with our big bags on, but it is a decent hike up to the hotel. Staff was friendly and breakfast was just fine, basic. Wifi was available but only in the lobby (we were only a few feet from the lobby and my phone couldnt keep the signal once the door was shut.

Great find in an expensive cityPosted Nov 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
We paid so little for our stay in this hotel. Breakfast wasn't great (terrible coffee), but apart from that this place was great value given the price. It's not high end, but it is super comfortable and the rooms are big.
Very nicePosted Sep 19, 2012 on Hotels.com
Hotel was close to everything, clean, and accommodating. About a 15 minute walk from the train station. The room was big, clean and spacey, and the bathroom was clean as well. Only two not so good things - wifi was only in the common area and the fact that the hotel as on the fourth floor. 67 steps later, you were at the hotel. Luckily for my friend and I, we only had backpacks. Other than that, I recommend the hotel.

Good hotel with poor servicePosted Jul 4, 2012
Pros: Location - right next to Il Duomo
The hotel was lovely, the room and bathroom were in excellent condition, and the breakfast provided was delicious. However, I wasn't satisfied with the service. The hotel has WiFi, but I was never able to connect to it. The explanation I received was that I was using a Mac and Macs had more stringent WiFi security requirements. I have never had this problem before, and I saw another person with a Mac using the wireless at the hotel. I wish the staff would have been more helpful and worked with me to resolve my problem. In addition, I asked at the reception if they had any irons I could borrow to iron my clothes. They informed me that irons were not allowed inside the hotel for safety reasons and recommended a laundry facility down the road that could help me. The very next morning I saw someone holding an iron at the reception desk...

Decent backpacker hotel, not ideal for familiesPosted Jul 3, 2012
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: climbing the stairs more than once a day
Location: good location for the major sites - Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, and the Ufizzi are within 10 minutes walk
Hotel staff were very nice, letting us drop of our bags early in the day before our room was ready. Room was okay, but decidedly not luxurious. The bed was very hard but the sheets seemed clean. The toilet was raised off the ground like one you would find in a handicapped stall. The pipes from the toilet to the wall were exposed but it worked without issue. The shower stall has full-length curtains on two sides but is a decent size. No floormats though, so expect a slippery bathroom floor. Wireless internet access was free, but could only pick up a poor or no signal in the room. It worked fine in the reception area. The hotel is on the third floor of the building and there is no elevator so be prepared to climb some stairs. Not much of an issue if you've only got a backpack but we saw some guests struggling with heavy suitcases. I would recommend the hotel for backpackers looking for accomodations a couple steps above a hostel, but would discourage families with children or bulky luggage.
