“Quiet on the Arno”

Because the American Embassy is on the block just east, the street facing the Arno is blocked off to vehicular traffic. Thus, only the west face of the hotel (with a few rooms) has any exposure to traffic noise and not much of that as it is a side street. In addition, all the rooms are all on the fifth floor. No great nearby restaurants, but the walk to better ones will do you good. No internet access, but Florence has internet storefronts (no coffee, however) and the staff will gladlly look up train schedules, etc. Looking to return.
