“Nice Location”
This is so far my favorite city in Italy. I came here to eat! Hotel is 400 meters from train station and you can see the town square from there. The hotel has a great lobby bar with free appetizers around 5 pm and the staff is very good with giving information about local wine and wineries. It is a small town so everything is easy to walk to. The best restaurant with great service and good prices is located around the block called "La Madia." Another good one is Yellow Bar and my favorite- home made gellato is GROM.

a renovation is long past due for this hotel. however, it has good location close to the duomo. room was spacious and clean, but worn out. in room amenities were practical and satisfactory.
“Wonderful location, strange smells”
We were thrilled at the location of this hotel - right down the road from the stunning duomo and in the heart of all the 'action' in Florence. Easy walk to the Galleria dell' Academia, the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, etc. We loved it! The room was regularly sized for a European hotel, extremely comfy bed, very clean, well stocked bathroom etc. Reception were friendly and helpful and there is a computer in the lobby with internet access that you can use for free. My only complaint would be the overpowering odour in the lobby. It smells as if they're trying to cover a sewerage odour with a really strong chemical air freshener - the result actually makes your eyes water and is pretty gross. There were similar smells in the corridors of the floors but the rooms themselves were fine. A small thing, I know, but it was pretty off putting and definitely wouldn't be good for asthmatics or people with respiratory issues.
“Not up to Sofitel Standards.”
The Lobby was nice, the hotel is very well located. You can easily walk to the train station and to the Duomo. The staff was friendly. The rooms are small, even for european standards and the furniture is dated, the bed was comfortable though. All in all I think that for the price you could do better and this hotel does not live up to Sofitel standards.
“Great rooms, excellent location, good value”
Excellent location. Short walk to everywhere, including the railway station. Quiet, well furnished rooms. Friendly, helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet though a bit pricey if it is not included in your room rate.
“Sofitel Firenze”
Excellent hotel. The room was very large even for American standards. The service was great. No problems. Great location!!
“Definetly a comfortable and relaxing room”
Everything about the room and location were great, you can walk anywhere. The location for shopping was perfect and right by the Duomo. The Cheese plate from room service could have been fresher and with softer cheeses but our stay in Florence was one we would go back too.
“Average experience, not worth the money”
I found the hotel pretty average in every way. It definitely felt more like a 3 star property than a 4 star one. The rooms were comfortable enough, and clean. The air conditioning didn't work very well, which was a bit frustrating for the money spent. The staff generally were very kind and attentive. The hotel is centrally located, but if I return to Florence I'll try another place. Overall, overpriced for the experience.
