“A nice chill!”

Apartment 35 - Borgo San Frediano: If you like shopping at Ikea, you will enjoy your stay in apartment 35! All furnishings,linens and household goods are all from Ikea. We enjoyed 'chilling' in the up to date, what appeared to be, recently refurbished apartment which had everything you needed for a home-from-home stay. Be warned, however, it is on the 4th floor (with no Lifts) and in the heat, can be 'heavy going'. One of the apartment owners was there to greet us on arrival and she was very helpful. We had a small problem with the heating coming on during our stay and, after reporting the problem to the main office, someone came to resolve the problem within 20 minutes. Also being on a main street the apartment was very noisy. However, we did enjoy our stay there. (two 60 year youngs).

We stayed at Santa Maria Novella. Very well furnished and clean room. Very spacious, with tasteful decoration. Had a tv and DVD, though the tv only worked on a few channels but didn't bother us as we were there to see the city. The air con was great, though hard to work out at first. Lots of spare towels provided but no spare bedding and some bedding was uncovered. Shower worked well and was easy to use. Though the room had a balcony, not much to see. Kitchen was great, with basic things provided, although the kettle didn't reach boiling point. Great location, within walking distance of the centre and the main train station. We didn't take a bus the entire week. Great value for money. We would stay there again.

“Apartment with a local feeling in Florence”

The apartment was clean and in a very nice neighborhood and by the third night it felt like home. Everything was close; plazas, food, bakeries, gellaterias, everything. The location was perfect that we never took a taxi cab. The person that brought the keys for the appartment, he was very kind and amicable and also gave us real good tips about the city. He spent almost 45 minutes with us explaining and answering questions. It was a very nice experience!

“Apartment living in Florence”

If you are looking for an opportunity to live like the locals this is the answer. The apartment was just far enough away from the busy tourist areas but close enough to walk. Although bachelor size, it was spacious and airy. There was a terrace to enjoy the cooling evening air. There are a few downsides. We note the lack of smoke detectors. The refrigerator was tiny with limited freezer capacity. The local representative did not know the location of stores.

Nice apartment with lots of local charm and some modern comforts. No lifts in building but view of florence from the fourth or fifth floor is well worth the climb. Mobile phone is essential for communication as no other means of contact in the room. Definitely stay there again!

“nice if you are a good sleeper”

Clean and basic but better than we expected for the cost. The main downside was the noise outside from the road and bars plus being next to a major hotel - losts of activity at all hours

“Exhausting climb”

We stayed in an apartment in a very good location however it took 5 flights of stairs to get to our rooms. Not what you want when you are in your 60's and tired after a long day of touring Florence sights. The condition of the room was nowhere close to what was advertised. It was very disappointing and tiring. We could not use the room as our resting place during the day cause it was too difficult to do the stairs more than twice a day.
