Disgusting, filthy, does not match description

Posted Oct 19, 2012
Pros: Nothing at all.
Cons: The filth which was everywhere.
The place was FILTHY (WC, kitchen, cupboards, walls, washing machine, EVERYTHING) and the promised amenities were not there (microwave, internet access, coffee maker, coffee, washing powder etc). What was there was broken and/or not functioning (toilet seat, shower knob, lights, drawers). The owner outright lies about what you are getting, hassles you into making endless international calls, is 25 minutes late with the keys (while we were waiting in a smelly street late at night) despite numerous confirmations of our arrival time, provides no information about the local area and so on. Horrible experience. I will be making a complain to Expedia.

Nice apartment for a family stay

Posted Oct 6, 2012
The apartment was very nice and spacious with great location. The staff was very friendly. However, it was not clean. Seems that only bedding sheets and towels are cleaned and changed while table, floor and other furniture were dirty and dusty. It also would have been nice if there were an internet access.

Feels like the Ghetto

Posted Jun 22, 2012 on Hotels.com
The whole apartment smelled like sewage! We had no service. No clean towels. No toilet paper. The trash was never collected. The beds never made. The washer and dryer listed ended up being a washer and a drying rack! Two blankets in the wardrobe were stained with blood and never washed. There were no amenities, no people to ask questions to. No internet available. The shower had mold and enclosure was broken so water ran through to the floor. It was the nastiest place we had ever had to stay.

Great Location

Posted May 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
Several flights of stairs couldn’t keep this from being a great location. The unit is basic but within walking distance to most of Florence’s big ticket tourist attractions and only 1 block from the train and bus stations. The staff was awesome, American with a solid knowledge of the city and surrounding attractions. Slept 6 comfortably, with 2 baths.

Don't be fooled by the pictures. Florence Apartments have some lovely properties you can book direct. We just ended up with what was left. Our first apartment was disgusting. The kitchen was a sink on a wooden stand inside a cupboard, a gas bottle attached to a cooker and a microwave on top of a fridge. The bathroom was awful; I would not wash an animal in that bath. The double bed was not big enough for two and the doors fell off the lounge cupboards if you touched them. T cap it all I had booked a non-smoking property, this one stank of cigarettes which failed to mask the remaining unpleasant odor. The second apartment was closed for repairs, but was offered to us. It was a long way from the first property and we had to take a taxi. It had been flooded. The floor had lifted, the cupboard door swollen, the curtains filthy and moldy. To add insult to injury the boiler did not work so no heating or hot water. We ended up in a Hotel in the town centre.

Beautiful Apartment

Posted Sep 22, 2011 on Hotels.com
This apartment was surprisingly big and beautiful. There was 4 of us staying and there was plenty of room. It was not the cleanest but it wasn't too bad. The beds were very uncomfortable, however, and the shower drain clogged. It had a nice feel though and was very close to the city center. If you are staying here, DO NOT go to the address that is given by hotels.com. You have to call before hand or when you arrive in Florence to arrange a meeting with the owner. Allow ample time because it was a bit difficult to get in contact with him. I would definitely stay here again!

Great experience. Good location. Would recommend.

We stayed at Santa Maria Novella. Very well furnished and clean room. Very spacious, with tasteful decoration. Had a tv and DVD, though the tv only worked on a few channels but didn't bother us as we were there to see the city. The air con was great, though hard to work out at first. Lots of spare towels provided but no spare bedding and some bedding was uncovered. Shower worked well and was easy to use. Though the room had a balcony, not much to see. Kitchen was great, with basic things provided, although the kettle didn't reach boiling point. Great location, within walking distance of the centre and the main train station. We didn't take a bus the entire week. Great value for money. We would stay there again.

Florence Apartments

You will pay for your reservation in advance but, will not know what location you will be staying at until you call 24 hr. before your set reservation so that they can give you the address, this can be very stressful. The room is clean and convenient to museums and restaurants. Be ready to leave the room first thing in the morning because the cleaning lady will be banging on your door and invading your space before check out time.

A wonderful stay in a beautiful city! We would definitely rent from this company again. The apartment was just what we needed for a comfortable and convenient vacation.
