Nice hotel shame about the noisePosted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: it was clean, it was friendly, the breakfast room had good views
Cons: soundoproofing between rooms
Location: loads to do .very close to central station if you arrive by train and 5 minutes walk from duomo and academia, 10 minutes from ufritzi
The hotel was nice, the staff were helpful BUT the soundproofing between rooms was non existent We were booked in for 4 nights and on the second night the next room became occupied. Their bathroom was adjacent to out bedroom and the running water was so clear I thought we had a leak into our room. I didn't complain because this was not the guests fault. They are entitled to take a bath at 5 am I just didn't like listening to it. And as for the toilet...!!!

Excellent location, staff, and settings.Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Staff, location and the feeling of history in every room
Cons: - Internet is very slow and unpredictable - Parking is expensive as with most of Europe (35 Euros per day) - Hotel is being restored externally
Location: All Firenze attractions are 5 to 10 minutes away: Shopping, Sight seeing and historic piazzas and churches.
Hotel is located in the middle of everything that Florence has to offer. - Staff were extremely helpful and friendly - Location is 10 minutes away by foot from all Florence attractions. - The hotel is very old but renovated elegantly to keep the old historic feeling and still offer modern comforts - Breakfast is normal but fresh and staff is friendly - Very spacious room, we took the double deluxe and it was magnificent

Perfectly comfortable stayPosted Jan 12, 2014
I stayed for one night on business. The room was lovely and comfortable and a good size. Free wifi which actually worked was a huge plus! The hotel itself has a traditional feel and plenty of dark wood panels, mood lighting and soft furnishings. Only negatives were the breakfast wasn't great and the bed could have been a bit more comfortable. Ideal location for exploring the shops and old town.

Great location, lovely historic biuldingPosted Jan 9, 2014
Arrived New Years Day ( after new years eve in London) and the staff were wonderfully understanding. Breakfasts were delicious, although some of our party weren't used to the European style. The location was walking distance to all the "sights", and a short walk to the train station when we left for Rome.

GREAT HOLIDAYPosted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: See above
Location: We walked everywhere, the Uffizi, the Academia, the market, the Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio are all within a 10 to 20 minute walk.
We were in Florence over New Year's. The location is wonderful. The staff were very helpful, breakfasts lovely, and we liked the American style bar. The hotel is across the street from the train station and on New Year's Eve there was lots of action. The noise didn't bother us since we were expecting it but other guests complained. It is very clean, well kept original furnishings and décor. We would stay here again and recommend it to anyone wanting to be in the middle of the action.

Good locationPosted Dec 30, 2013
The hotel is at an excellent location with walking distance to SITA bus and train station as well as not too far from major basillica. The room is comfortable. It is worth the cost.

The beds are uncomfortable.Posted Dec 6, 2013
The hotel is located near the train station and is convenient if you take the train to Florenze. The temperature in the room is set and you have to ask for the heat to be turned higher. The rooms are very clean. The TV is poor with limited channels. The breakfast was very complete. We stayed in for dinner and we were the only customers. Staff is knowledgeable of wines. The hotel manager was rude and disrespectful. My son noticed (as it was not told to us) that we could use a discount coupon for our dinner that was in our room. At check out I asked to apply it to my bill. It was a huge inconvenience for them. The clerk at the counter told me that I had to go back to the restaurant and I did. The Matradee was helpful (he was also the greeter for Breakfast); he asked the Restaurant Manager who screamed and shouted. It was embarrassing and uncalled for. We did not find the hotel overall very friendly. I would not go back but give another hotel a chance.
