“A Florentine gem”
Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location in Florence. We loved our stay there. The only downside of the hotel is that the glorious rooftop bar has a one drink minimum, and the drinks are expensive. One word of warning about Florence (not the hotel) - and indeed all the major Italian cities: it has recently introduced a tourist tax - 4 Euros per person per night, which must be paid in cash to your hotel at the end of your stay. It's a bummer.
“WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK!”
Every aspect was wonderful. Staff very helpful, hotel was clean and well maintained. Breakfast delicious, restaurant next door was very nice and the location is perfect. Never got lost even though this was our first visit to Florence and we walked every where. I chose this after reading reviews on expedia and was so happy with the choice!
“Excellent location in Florence”
We were very pleased with the Hotel Cavour and would definitely stay there again. It is convenient to all the major sites. The breakfast food selection was excellent with plenty of table space. Staff was helpful and spoke English well.
“AMAZING LOCATION & ACCOMODATIONS @ reasonable prices”
We loved the hotel. The beds were comfy, rooms and bathrooms clean, and the location is PERFECT! GREAT VALUE for what you get, including an excercise room and a nice bar downstairs. Also GREAT buffet breakfasts -- and an AMAZING rooftop for hanging out, drinking some wine, taking in the sights. BELLISSIMO!
“nous y retournerons dès que possible”
tres bonnes prestations
“Grand Hotel Cavour is "GRAND"”
This was our 3rd stay at Grand Hotel Cavour and it was as expected... really wonderful. We have traveled many times to Florence and stayed in a few different locations, but this is the hotel we keep coming back to once we found it. Florence was very lively in early May, but there is so much to do that there is enough room to keep everybody busy in this terrific Renaissance wonderland. We could easily stay a month and not see everything, and the Cavour is where we would love to be, even for that length of time.... It is perfectly central to everything. Walk to and from train station is probably 10 minutes, with a good first/ last visit to the Duomo en route. We have had 3 styles of rooms and all are good. Not necessarily views, but definitely clean and nice comfy rooms with great bathrooms. Might want to ask for a quiet room, because the rooms facing street can be noisy. Earplugs worked well during that visit. Also, TV is good for any English speaking patrons, as BBC is available for news. Breakfast is sensational, with healthy and tasty smorgesboard for all. Great selection of drinks with personal tea pots for hot tea drinkers in AM. Bottled water and choice of several types of juices, and of course great coffee. I know many had made to order drinks.... lattes, etc. I probably have left one of the very most notable things till last.... The front desk staff is wonder, truly all shifts and all stays we have had. Must have a lot to do with professional training.
“Great hotel”
The hotel is right in the middle of Florence and you could walk to majority of the attractions. Hotel staffs are very helpful and are always ready to give you some tips on the journey. The only problem we have in this hotel is for some rooms facing the main street, it is quite noisy at night. The first 3 night, we have a very nice room facing the main street, you could see a old church and building just from your windows. However, it became quite noisy at night and we needed to change room. We finally got a room facing the inside courtyard. No much of a view but very quiet.
“Great location & marvellous views from roof top Bar”
We choose this hotel due to the excellent reviews and it certainly is one of the best - the location is ideal for exploring Florence and near by restuarants are excellent. The room was spacious and the bathroom a good size; the inclusive breakfast offered a very wide selection indeed and the roof top terrace/bar was the place to start your evening. The staff were friendly and the front desk very helpful - all in all, we had a wonderful stay.
“Charming Hotel, three thumbs up”
We had a lovely time at Firenze, our hotel (Grand Hotel Cavour) was at the perfect location. We could walk back to the hotel after shopping to rest, and then go out again for more shopping wining, cafes and dining. It is literally centrally located... in between Ponte Vecchio (the gold capital of Italy),and their fine leather piazza. The staff was very courteous and generous... they upgraded us to a grand room with a grand chandeleir and a well decorated living room. Three thumbs up ; )
“Extremely adorable and quaint”
This is the kind of hotel I was expecting to find in Italy. It was so quaint. We had a triple room, so the twin bed was in a seperate little alcove. So cute! The bathroom was surprisingly large and so Euorpean modern. What a great view of the neighborhood. It was the perfect location, you could walk to everything.
