“eccelente!”

Just returned to rainy London after a great stay at this hotel with my girlfriend. Lovely place, friendly staff and very nice setting. I remember previous reviews saying the setting was not great but I would disagree. The surrounding area of the hotel is fine its just not right in the centre of florence. However 10 mins walk tops and your in the centre and its a nice walk. Plus being away from the busy centre at night has its advantages. The hotel itself was great, rooms clean and comfortable, staff very helpful and the garden was idealic.

“Loved this hotel!”

My husband and I had been to Florence before, and we loved our previoius hotel, but we opted to try something new on this visit. The hotel completely lived up to our expectations. We were greeted by a friendly staff with a glass of sparkling wine, which is a nice way to be welcomed. We were informed that we had been upgraded to a larger room with a balcony and view! The size of the room was big, even by European standards, and the marble bathroom was as well. The room was always clean and had every comfort we needed. The location was great. It's not right in the center of things, if that is what you are looking for, but everything in Florence is a fairly short walk. We were there for a wedding and walked to almost every event planned for the week. We were deciding between a hotel near the Duomo and the Medici, and we are very happy with our decision to choose the Medici. Women, if you have never been to Florence, be warned...the cobbled streets are not for walking in heels! (I would sometimes wear flats but bring my heels in my bag to change into) I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to Florence!

“Staff Extra Nice”

The hotel staff, everyone that we had contact with, were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was a half hour walk to the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio.

“Excellent Hotel”

This was my first trip to Italy and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Hotel was terrific. Very clean, staff was very nice and helpful, bed very comfortable with fresh pressed linens. Breakfast was ample served in a beautiful room with linen tablecloths. Excellent location within walking distance to everything. Overall a "5" for sure.

Beautiful hotel, huge rooms, and friendly staff! Would definitely go back. Much preferred to the Westin Excelsior.

“rather too far to walk to centre”

The hotel itself was excellent and fully lived up to our expectations. We visited during a heat wave and the pool was very welcome, small but well-kept. We felt the location was rather odd for a 5 star hotel being placed in what we regarded as quite a run down area. While we enjoyed the more central part of our walk to and from the hotel,we did not find the last five minutes or so particularly pleasant. It was also quite a long way to the centre on foot and took us between 15-20 minutes to walk to the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio etc. For these reasons we would think twice before returning to the hotel and would not recommend it to others who would like to be able to take a pleasant walk into the centre.

“Excellent, classic charm & luxury”

Very good, the decor and furnishings are exactly what we wanted from a 5* hotel. If you can you should book a superior room....... now that really is luxury. Breakfast is good......... the only thing to watch out for is the bar tarrif.....but I suppose you should expect expense in a luxury hotel like this one. All in all.........excellent !

The Hotel is very convenient to the train station (5 mins).

Very convenient to Florence main attractions. A little expensive to eat and drink, but quality extremely good
