“Five Star Service”

The Alessandra is the place to stay if you want to be hosted by a friendly and very engaging staff. There was never a moment from our arrival to departure that somebody was not greeting us or serving another guest in an engaging way. Hospitality is five stars. The rooms and amenities are classic old world Florence. If you believe in experiencing the historic city and it's true setting than the Alessandra is a perfect hotel. The location is ideal and all the recommendations were customized to our needs. Be aware that there is a memorable set of stairs to reach the very unique elevator but these will become part of the good memories once you stay. The rooms are basic, beds, linens, and decor is not going to be confused with a five starr hotel but everything was comfortable and we left with tremendous stories (the sign of a great stay). During our stay we met a frequent guest who comes back because of the relationship with the staff even though they could easily stay at one of the multi-star hotels down the way. It is personal and it shows.

The staff was amazing. They were so helpful and treated us like family. If any issue arose, no matter how small, they handled it right away. Beautiful old hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

“Perfect Florence Experience!”

This hotel is wonderful! The service was particularly great, specifically the desk assistant/bellman/concierge. He gave us incredible restaurant suggestions and was exceptionally pleasant (very complimentary as well which is always nice!) The hotel is a great location, within walking distance to everything you want to see, but very quiet so you aren't overwhelmed. it is only about an 8 Euro cab ride from the train station (I wouldn't recommend walking with luggage, too many tourists to combat). Great little wine bars on the street add nice charm. One thing to note is not all rooms guarantee an in room bathroom, so make sure to check for that if it is important to you. I would go back or recommend this to anyone traveling to Florence!

The hotel is great. Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, spacious, clean. The breakfasts were really good and the staff could not have been more helpful. It is in a great location, we could walk to everything. We loved it and would go back.

“Hidden Gem in the Heart of the City”

This small little hotel was a wonderful suprise. I had a single bed room with a seperate private bath. The staff were polite and helpful. It is centrally located near everything that you would like to see in the city. I walked everywhere!

This place is a gem. The location is excellant . Just a step away from almost everthing. Andrea n Monti provided five star assisstance if you needed anything. Overall we had a really good time. Will definitely come back again.Just need to be mindful of the stairs.

Hotel Alessandra was exactly what I was looking for. A clean hotel in a convenient, safe location. No frills with an extremely friendly and helpful staff - I would stay there again next time I'm in Florence.

“Phenomenal Employees”

Everyone at the front desk was extremely helpful and recommended wonderful places to have dinner in a few different neighborhoods over our three night stay. The hotel itself was lovely, but the room was a bit sparse and small for the price. Luckily, we were not in it very much as the location was in close proximity to all of the attractions that Florence has to offer.

“Canadian Favorite”

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Alessandra in July 2011 and absolutely loved every minute of it! The only negative that I had was it was difficult to find at first as we had to troop down this small alley and even when we found the sign, the stairwell made us feel as though we were in the wrong place. Once we checked in, Monty (the front desk guy) enthusiastically showed us our room (Which was massive) and the shared toilet that we only shared with a few other rooms, and never once did I ever have to wait or walk into a recently used, stinky bathroom. The breakfast was good, the location couldn't be better, and the service was awesome. I would definitely go back.

“Excellent Location & Great Staff”

Outstanding location, within walking distance of all of the major attractions and some delightful restaurants / bars. As has been mentioned in other reviews, the stairs may make the hotel unsuitable for wheelchair users, but other than that, couldn't fault the place. Super Friendly Staff, especially Monti who always had a smile, cheery greeting and some great recommendations for restaurants (ask him about the one with the Owner who fancied himself as an Opera Singer and is very good at it).
