OK, but access is difficult.Posted Jun 7, 2014
Cons: Access, including a difficult elevator and cumbersome stairways.
The room was clean and just large enough for comfort. The access, including a difficult elevator, is very cumbersome and hard to manage, especially while carrying luggage. I definitely would not recommend this hotel for people with limited physical abilities.

Right in the heart of Florence! Best view ever!Posted May 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
Hotel Bigallo is right in front of Florence Duomo. It has an unbelievable view from the hotel room. It is very clean, it has an elevator, breakfast is delicious with tones of options. Front desk staff is very helpful, specially Chiara. She gave us hot water every night, so we could enjoy a cup of tea in the room, she told us all about Florence most visited sites, gave us a map, and her languages skills are impressive. She can speak French, Spanish, English, etc....I would definitely stay at Hotel Bigallo again....They also offer parking Garage, which is not in the same building, but a driver will pick up your car, park it for you and bring it back anytime you want for 25euros per day!

In the heart of FlorencePosted May 21, 2014
Pros: Perfectly located to everything!
Location: Our hotel room was a townhouse which was a bit odd. Decending to the bathroom on the main floor at night was a challenge.
Hotel was located across from the Duomo. Great location. Helpful, pleasant, and friendly staff. They will book a reservation to see the statue of David which can save a lot of time. Otherwise, long lines.

Outstanding location across the street from Duomo!Posted Nov 3, 2013
Pros: The location is outstanding. It is centrally located, within an easy walk to all sights, and there is an elevator after the first flight of stairs.
Cons: No fault of the hotel but pack earplugs to drown out the revelers of the Florence pub crawls which do not end until about 4 am!
Location: The location is superb; across the street from the Duomo and within an easy walk to the Ponte Vecchio bridge, the David, and other points of interest.
We are two mature couples who spent one night at the Hotel Bigallo in late October and wish it could have been longer. The location is superb; across the street from the Duomo with breathtaking views and within an easy walk to the train station, Ponte Vecchio bridge, the David, and other points of interest. As they say about everything in Florence, "It's just a 10 minute walk!" The hotel staff was very helpful, assisting us with ticket information, directions, and a taxi. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious by European standards. The breakfast was outstanding with sliced meats, boiled eggs, breads, yogurt, fruit, pastries and a coffee/tea maker is available 24/7 in the breakfast room. While there is an elevator, like many places in Europe, it is at the top of one flight of stairs. That's just another reason to pack light on this trip. We walked to the hotel from the train station, but decided that we had too much luggage to walk back, so we took a taxi for the return trip. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone. Just note that pub crawls are common in most large European cities so if you're not "crawling", pack earplugs to drown out the noise.

The Hotel in the heart of FlorencePosted Sep 30, 2013
I spent four nights with my wife in this central hotel. Every thing was quite excellent. The only annoying matter was our room view. Though the room was really comfortable and quite clean with a wide bathroom and shower, the only disadvantage was that back view of the buildings with all the pipe systems of water supply and sewage disposal. We arrived from Venice where our room had a direct view, with two windows, over the Grand Canal. The contrast was at least quite noticeable. The staff there is quite friendly and cooperative and made us to feel comfortable and well taken care of. I do not hesitate to recommend this hotel to be on the top of the list of hotels for those looking for clean comfortable hotel in the center of Florence.

Excellent locationPosted Sep 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
The view from the lobby is superb. I can't wait to get our photos back. Breakfast was exceptional especially since we were only hoping for a European breakfast. Rooms were a little small, but quaint, clean and great a/c. Parking is not close and the hotel is on a pedestrian only street. It is best to drop off one person, check in and ask the desk to call the valet service with the parking garage.
