GOOD LOCATIONPosted Oct 28, 2013
Pros: Location and value for money
Cons: To improve on cleanliness and decor
Location: very convenient location and all the historic monuments are walking distance
Very well located hotel. Could do much better if they can do some cosmetic changes in furnishing and change the dull look of the entire hotel inside rooms and the lobby.

Bad experience staying in this hotelPosted Oct 17, 2013
Cons: New total renovation n retrofitting of hotel.
Location: Location is good as it is near city center. Good for walking around.
Not easy to find the hotel. Hotel condition is totally worn down. Reception service poor. Room condition is terrible. Very old hotel n no efforts to make guest feel comfortable. Room floor carpet is dirty n filthy. Air con not working. Wall n ceiling with many pockets of protrusion of paint due to water seepage condition. Broken bidet n shower tap water cannot change from flowing direct down to hand spray. Total disaster n just want to get out of the hotel as soon as possible. Not value for money.

Pros: left blank intentionally
Cons: the mild on the walls and ceilings
Location: easy walk from the train station
The photos that are shown on the site are accurate, the first floor is nice. This issue of smells and decay start on the 2nd floor. I didn't dare take the elevator. The corridors are narrow with the carpet bubbling up in some places. It only got worse once inside the room. The walls and ceilings had suspicious stains that I don't even want to think about. I tried not to look at the carpet, wore shoes during my entire stay. The sheets were sort of clean, I tried not to look to closely. I have honestly never stayed or imagined a such a horrible accommodation.

Find a different hotelPosted Sep 21, 2013
Location: Close to train station and most Florence attractions
The only thing this hotel has going for it is its location, being close to the train station and most attractions in Florence. The hotel is in dire need of updating. Some paint and vacuum cleaning would go a long way. Beds are hard, hotel staff is unfriendly, breakfast is unappetizing. A good interior designer could work wonders with this hotel and make it shine. The smoke detector in my room was covered with a plastic bag! Shower is tiny, cramped and there is no place to put your toiletries. Had to put them on the floor outside of the shower. My best suggestion is find a different hotel.

Worst hotel everPosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: The location, the only good thing about this hotel! Right next to the train station, the Duomo and Piazza della Signoria
Some staff were really rude and awful with client service, like they hated to be there. Some were really nice! The decoration is from two centuries ago, very ugly but that wasn't a big deal; the worst thing was the terrible smell in all the public areas, it smelled to old humidity due to the rugs that are all over the hotel, lobby, halls, stairs, etc. Everything smelled awful!! My room was small but smelled fine! Fortunately you don't go to Florence to see TV because the TV was on the wall which the bed side was on, you had to see the TV at an angle of 30º, very uncomfortable. And finally, the shower was incredibly small. I'm a small person and still I was unable to move well. Also, it was dirty and full of mold. Breakfast was ok, nothing spectacular. Old croissants, yogurt and cereals.

Hotel Bonciani is false advertising.Posted Aug 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
The only redeeming factor about this hotel is its proximity to the train station. Our room was tiny and smelled strongly of mildew. The mini bar didn't even have bottled water in it. Most of the light bulbs in the hallways were burnt out. The bar was not operational but just for show nor is there 24 hour room service. There's not even a restaurant.. The main lobby is in darkness because most the light bulbs are burnt out. The windowless breakfast room was painted horrible colours of yellow and bright pink and the quality and variety of items was poor. The coffee was served from a large urn however it was ersatz coffee made from barley or chicory. The staff was cold, unfriendly and unhelpful. I warn others against this hotel. It was a miserable experience.

It was the absolute worst hotel I've stayed at, even compared to hostels!! It's moldy everywhere, carpet stinks, really old, below average breakfast, wifi doesn't work well in the room... This is NOT a 3 star hotel. I wouldn't even give it 1 star! But it is close to the train and bus station and pretty close to Duomo.
