“Great price for modern but charming digs in an off-the-beaten-path Tuscan hilltown”

The hotel is charming; on a river, with modern and, for Italy, good-sized rooms. A helpful concierge for restaurant recommendations. Nice buffet breakfasts with excellent cappuccinos, which you can eat in the lovely breakfast room or on the patio. You won't find Hotel Certaldo or the town in the guidebooks, but it's on the outskirts of an old Tuscan hilltown in minature that's worth a little exploring. The town's restaurants are excellent and the location is an easy drive for day trips, save for the lack of clear roadsigns, to the wine areas of Chianti and Montepulciano/Montalciano, San Gimignano, Siena, Florence, etc. Don't let the unfinished road abutting the hotel entrance be a turnoff; the location is quiet and the views from the rooms are nice. Negatives are the small stall shower with an unsteady glass, yes glass, soapdish and the charge for Internet connection, but the room price was so reasonable you still come out ahead.

“Great hotel in central Tuscany”

We had a great time at this hotel. For the price, we couldn't have stayed at a better place. The breakfast buffet had lots to choose from, and the service was great is every aspect. If we come back to Tuscany, we will definitely stay here again.

“Loved it”

This was the best hotel on a 3 weeks vacations, with 5 different hotels. It's not too big and the service was perfect. Breakfast is good, and you should ask for the cappucino. When you drive from the Hotel to Florence, take the Chianti scenic road, it's very beautiful.

“Excellent hotel and touring base”

Hotel was great, friendly and a nice modern conversion of an old mill. Beautiful garden overlooking river. Extremely nice welcoming staff, loads of parking. San Gimignano a very short drive away. Very short and pleasant walk into main town square of Certaldo where there are nice local inexpensive pizzerias and ice cream shops! Very short (steep) walk up to medieval alto with excellent range of restaurants and a nice friendly little bar for early evening aperitif. Railway station nearby for those without cars. Visited in mid October, really warm and gloroius colours.

Very nice and brand new hotel. Pleasant and helpful staff. Well English speaking. They advise you and give you maps for everything. Delicious breakfast and if you are a coffee educated, they have illy coffee in the breakfast. Weather you want espresso or cappuccino. Spacious room and bathroom.

Hotel Certaldo is an awesome property about 45 minutes south of Florence, 10 minutes east of San Gimignano and 30 minutes north of Sienna! A perfect location in the heart of Tuscany. The staff are friendly and helpful with directions, & winery and restaurant recommendations! The breakfast is amazing (full breakfast buffet with everything you could want to start your day, including a fabulous cappucino)! We loved EVERY minute of our stay at Hotel Certaldo!!

Smiling and helpful hotel staff. Clean, spacious room. Great breakfast, served outdoors. Location near railway station (5 minutes walk) facilitates a trip to Firenze and other destinations.

“A Great Hotel”

The hotel is in a good location - close to the downtown area and train station. Rooms and common areas were immaculate. The breakfast exceeded other European hotels. The only drawback was a gravel parking lot which made check in and check out a little difficult.

fantastic hotel - rooms service and staff. Only drawback was that breakfast only was served in Hotel as we would have enjoyed eating there as limited Restaurants in Certaldo.

“Great Hotel”

Great hotel, very helpful staff, comfortable room, the one down side to this hotel is the fact that a new ring road has been be built next to the hotel and overlooks the current swimming pool, the noise from this is quite low - but is still there. but other than that it was a GREAT hotel, and i would go back
