“Great hotel”
Great hotel. Clean and modern. Very friendly staff. Walking distance to the old city, which is off the typical tourist path but absolutely beautiful at night and a must-see if you stay here.

“Worthwhile to invest the time to get there”
To get to Certaldo and find the hotel is not straightforward especially if you're arriving late but it's excellent when you're there.
“Light industrial location but very convenient”
Situated close to a rather unattractive road and in the scruffy part of Certaldo, the hotel is never-the-less one that i would heartily recommend and definately return to. The railway staition is within 7 mins walk with trains to Florence-1hr and Sienna-40mins. The town has everything you might need including some great, reasonably priced eateries. The hotel staff were, without exception, dedicated to good service and although there is no restaurant in the hotel the late and lavish breakfast (served till 12!) meant for us that we rarely troubled to eat lunch. The rooms (we booked a standard) were modern, quiet, light, well-decorated, scrupulously cleaned, and the beds were massive and very comfortable. Fantasticly located for drives into local hill-towns and the Chianti region.
“Superb hotel”
Hotel Certaldo exceeded all of our expectations....it was superb. We had read reviews saying that the breakfast was excellent, and indeed it was one of the finest breakfasts that we encountered on our entire trip. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and welcoming....the location of the hotel makes it an excellent choice for daytrips throughout Tuscany (ie. Florence, Volterra, Sienna, Montalcino etc. etc.).
“Great Hotel”
Hotel Certaldo is a small boutique hotel in Tuscany. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. Service was that of a 5 star hotel and breaksfast was outstanding. I live in Europe and travel all over and the quality of hotel service and accomodation was well worth the small price.
“Convenient Tuscan hub”
The hotel room was huge and very nicely appointed with great amenities... like a tub with a waterfall shower. Even the king bed seemed bigger than most. The location worked really well for my hubby and I to be centrally located for day trips out to Tuscan sites like Florance, Siena, wineries. While the hotel and staff were very nice, it wasn't exactly what we were expecting from the pics...it's pretty much IN the little town of Certaldo, not out in a field by itself over looking the hills of Tuscany. But overall, a great place to stay and great bang for our buck!
“Calming, modern, clean & elegant.”
Had a really enjoyable stay here.Downsides -the pool could do with some tall trees/screens to shield visability from the road also some ifrastructure building works to the drive &car park still ongoing. But ....the staff are youthfull and courteous at all times, breakfast - a real treat, bakground music - chilled and modern. We had a front room with fab views of the old town, lovely aircon and comfortable high quality bed linens. Would definately use Hotel Certaldo again - its location is really good for touring Siena, Florence, Lucca and all the picture-postcard countryside of Chianti country (train station easy to walk to) but a car works better for all the exploration of the little towns and back-water roads of beautiful Tuscany.
“The best hotel we had in our two weeks trip in Italy”
Nice hotel, great staff! They were very helpful from the in town restaurant selections to wineries directions in the region. A welcome glass of champagne was more than expected! The large and modern room, along with the courteous breakfast staff, made this hotel the best in our two weeks trip in Italy.
“Very impressed”
On our recent trip to Italy, my wife and I had a car for a short two day road trip aroung Tuscany, but hadn't made a reservation for lodging. We saw this listing on Expedia and took it-just 24 hours in advance-because we wanted to be near San Gimignano. It was great! A warm welcome with a glass of wine on arrival. A beautifully remodeled old flour mill, with the rooms looking brand new and beautifully appointed. Great restaurants nearby, easy to find...we'll go back next trip!
