“Wonderful for the price”

Wonderful little hotel! One of the best budget hotels you can get. The staff was very helpful and that is putting it mildly! We stayed here on two occasions in one week (we had a trip to Venice in the middle of the week) and not only were we pleased with out first visit, we actually looked forward to returning to the hotel later in the week. Very clean and in a convenient location to sights on both sides of the river. We also walked with small suitcases from the train station to the hotel. The hotel let us check in early the first time because the room was already cleaned and stored our luggage the second time we arrived early while we saw some sights. Breakfast was traditional European, but very plentiful (croissants, cereal, granola, fruit, yogurt, a small selection meats and cheeses, jam, toast, and coffee). I particularly enjoyed their cappuccinos! The only things wrong with this hotel were superficial and cosmetic (scuffs on the paint and furniture was not up-to-date or posh, but it was functional). I would stay her again for sure!

“Try it, you will like it.”

Good location near Santa Croce; walking distance to major sights, very helpful and kind staff; breakfast is good-cappucino better here than some bars; I would recomend staying here.

“LOVE The Dante!”

I would absolutely stay at The Dante again. The location right across the street from Santa Croce made it so easy to walk everywhere, Adriano (our concierge) was above and beyond helpful, and the price was CHEAP! What a fantastic experience!

“Very good for the price!”

The service from the hotel staff was very good, they were very helpfull with everything we asked for.. the guy thats in the reception in the afternoon gives good tips and is helpful with information! Free internet and computer to use (with is always good!) Breakfast was Ok, nothing fabulous, the place was quite clean and good enough to rest. As almost all hotels in the city center (or near it) it is old and is small, but really if you are not TOO picky its a great hotel! Walking distance from evrywhere in the city center and if you can... go to a restaurant called Di Ganzis (the reception has a card) about two blocks from the hotel... the food there is WONDERFUL!!!!

“Basic, clean, good location.”

The hotel is in an excellent location for visiting Florence, right near San Croce. Just a few minutes walk to all of the tourist sites, a 20 minute walk to the soccer stadium and about a 15 minute walk to the train station. It's on a small side street, so there are no noise issues. Staff is small (2), and speak broken English. Very friendly and pleasant. There is no night clerk, so you let yourself in after about 10 at night. Nice basic, self-serve breakfast, served with your choice of coffee (cappuccino etc. etc.) from 8-11. My room was small, spare but very clean (just a desk chair/desk, no comfortable chair). No view really, just neighborhood apartments across a small courtyard. I was looking for a small, very basic, inexpensive hotel, in this location, so it was perfect for my needs. I recommend the Hotel Dante if inexpensive rates for a basic hotel in a good location is important to you. But if you are looking for hotel amenities or luxuries or sweeping views, this is not your place.

“Hotel Dante in Florence”

Our general experience was pleasant. Hotel staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was good. However, there was not even one English channel on the television, and there was a poor reception of cable TV for most of the time that we stay there (10 days). Shower cabin was very small and for that reason not comfortable. We bought some bus tours, but we had to pay in cash. They did not accept credit cards as a payment for extra service. Credit cards were accepted for a hotel room only.

“great hotel staff”

charming hotel within walking distance to many attractions. Staff was eager to please and very nice. We forgot to return one of the room keys and the desk clerk had to catch up with us two blocks away at the taxi stand to retrieve it. He was very gracious about the oversight! Room was a little small, but would definitely stay again!
