“Great Hotel, Extremely Friendly Staff”

Great hotel. A little off the beaten path, if you were looking for something more centrally located, but well worth the walk. The staff was so nice, it was almost unbelievable. Plus, they offered a ton of free amenities: free wifi, free mini bar, free parking, free bottle of wine upon check-in. Well, worth it.

“Superb Florence Hotel (Truly a great B&B)!”

My wife and I were extremely pleased with all aspects of the Hotel David, in Florence's Viale Michelangiolo. It is across the River Arno from the Academia, Duomo and Uffizi Gallery, but literally only a few minutes away by bus, or 15 minutes at a leisurely walking pace along the gorgeous river front. It was a 9 Euro cab ride from the train station. The charm and hospitality of the staff cannot be topped. They were exceedingly helpful and every action was done with a personal touch. The price was, by far, the most reasonable and best value, of all our Italy hotels. A block and a half away is Restorante Beccaio - the best restaurant we experienced in our 8 days in Italy - now that's truly making a statement! Hotel David has our highest recommendation for anyone wanting a quaint, high quality, friendly and relaxing stay in one of Italy's most spectacular cities.

“Wondeful Italian-villa style hotel”

This was a wonderful place - a country villa-turned hotel, family-run, very comfortable, very friendly, wonderful neighborhood - not downtown but within a 5-min bus ride or a 15-min walk. Highly recommend and will stay again when in Florence.

Hotel David is a real gem. The hotel staff are extremely welcoming and helpful - they greeted us by name when we entered the first time. Our rooms were spacious, charming, well lit, immaculately clean and had a nice view. Many hotel features that you'd have to pay extra for at other hotels, like in-room wifi, happy hour snacks, scrambled eggs at breakfast, on-site parking, and the minibar, are included in the room price. The included breakfast was delicious, with a wider range of options than at other hotels we stayed at in Italy. Hotel David is an easy bus ride or 15 minute walk along the Arno river to the center of Florence. My wife, 2 kids and I spent 3 nights here, and wished we could have stayed longer. The hotel was an excellent value.

“Superb Florence experience”

Hotel David is one of those rare finds where you think you are getting more than you paid for. While the location is across the river from many of the traditional tourist sights and a good walk is required they make up for location with service, an attentive, responsive staff, personalized service, comfortable surroundings and terrific amenities: complimentary breakfast, complimentary afternoon wine and appetizers, free mini-bar, free Wi-Fi, free calls home, in a tastefully redone villa. Rooms are large and high ceilinged, public spaces are inviting, and the number of rooms is small enough that the staff know who you are. Whether it was restaurant recommendations, trip assistance, Florence advice, everyone could not have been more caring. This place is a well managed gem, with great staff, terrific value, and not to be missed.

“Charming and homey, very personal experience!”

The service was lovely, and the general feel of the place was so nice and laid back. We felt very at home there. It is right next door to a lovely cafe with tables outside and some basic sandwiches and stuff. The other advantage was that the bus stop was just across the street and so going to the center of town was really easy and comfortable. The neighborhood was peacefull and it is just far enough away to be able to feel close but without the noise.

Excellent hotel and value for money in most respects. Pleasant room with a balcony but we could not enjoy it due to high level of traffic noise.Noise was not a problem inside due to efficient double glazing. The location is a little further from the central sights than the description suggests. Unless you like walking alongside a noisy busy road you need to take a bus which is cheap and easy. Great breakfast included which added to our enjoyment of this good hotel.

“Great Hotel”

Really pleased with our choice of hotel. It is a short walk (10 mins) outside of the main city of Florence but we planned that as it is nice to have a bit of a walk, especially after a lovely huge dinner! Our room was large (I think they all are), not particularly modern but fine with high ceilings. Quiet too because we were at the back of the hotel. Breakfast was simple but quite adequate and reasonable by continental Europe standards. Staff friendly and helpful and spoke English and reception open 24hours which is good. We also enjoyed the free aperitifs and snacks at 6.30pm - made a great start to the evening! There are plenty of good local restaurants and trattoria so you don't always need to walk into town in the evening. NOTE: We went in late October so you may have a different experience in high season?

Nice rooms, private courtyard, happy hour every day with drinks and snacks. They even left wine in our room to congratulate us on our anniversary. Would visit again.
