hotel david - Florence

Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: The warm, friendly atmosphere.
Cons: No. Our stay was perfect. Great value for the money. I can't think of one thing they can improve on.
Location: It is one short bus trip to the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, etc. 10 minutes away. And you can buy bus tickets at the front desk!
I highly recommend this Hotel. The rates are reasonable, and the establishment is impeccable. The staff are friendly and helpful, and it is clean and safe. The breakfast is great, and make sure you take advantage of their 'happy hour'. Lots of free drinks and a delicious Italian spread featuring hors d'oeuvres, meats, cheeses, etc. The hotel offers a warm, friendly environment. There is a FREE minibar fridge in your room containing beer, soft drinks, and snacks. I look forward to staying there again.

Marathon weekend

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Location: 15minute walk to town (and I walk quite slowly) with a scenic view down the river side the whole way.
We stayed at Hotel David for the weekend when my friends were doing the marathon. Before we even arrived we were all emailing regarding lots of random requests and questions. The response was always incredibly fast and answered all questions. From start to finish the staff were great, so attentive and always offering to go the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Florence and if I am lucky enough to go back I know exactly where I will be staying!

Tip-top in all respects

Posted Nov 25, 2014
The hotel is in a quiet location, 20 minutes easy walk away from the bustle of the city centre. All staff, without exception were welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was spotless, and the cakes that welcomed our arrival, free mini bar and evening aperitifs show that the owners do understand their guests very well. My wife and I will certainly be back.

Fantastic hotel with great friendly staff

Posted Nov 13, 2014
Pros: The rooms , the decor was so in keeping with Florence .
Cons: Nothing !!!!
Location: Great location only about a 10 to 15 minute walk along the river to all the sites but equally that nice distance away from the noise of the center .
Lovely hotel that surprised with lots of little touches , free happy hour , free phone calls , free internet .unlike the big chains this hotel offers all the things you wish you had whilst you were away but are normally charged the earth for not at the Hotel David , the owners have obviously taken a view from the travelers perspective and it shows . The staff couldn't do enough from booking restaurants , taxis ,excursions everything we asked anything we were greeted with a smile form staff that obviously enjoy working there .

Wonderful Boutique-style Hotel

Posted Oct 25, 2014
This is a charming boutique-style hotel in an excellent, quiet location in the busy City of Florence. It is cosy, lots of amenities, and still within walking distance of the Ponte Veccio. The owners have added many personal touches which make this hotel unique - such as providing complimentary happy hours each evening which can be enjoyed on their private terrace with lots of snacks and drinks; complimentary mini bars in each room; sitting rooms with MAC computers for your use; quaint breakfast room (also complimentary) with delicious fare. The staff also are extremely welcoming and helpful with whatever you may need. This may not be a modern luxury hotel but it has special touches that make it equal to them and memorable.

Fantastic hotel!

Posted Oct 22, 2014
Cons:
Location: 15 min walk along the Arno into the centre of Florence. Very safe residential area - a retreat from the bustle of Florence.
Excellent hotel in every way, even better than expected. The staff were always friendly and more than happy to help. Our room was lovely, well furnished and clean. Couldn't recommend more. Loved the added extra's - free mini bar, happy hour and 10 min phone call. Wonderful!!

Hotel David

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Location. Helpful staff. The food.
Cons: The cappuccino was a little weak.
Location: Perfect
We loved this hotel. The bathroom was huge. The breakfast, happy hour and free mini bar were a nice touch. Great location. Close enough to the tourist sights, but in a quieter neighborhood.

A wonderful find

Posted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: On the edge of a residential district with some excellent local restaurants
The Hotel David combines value, warm customer service and ambiance in a manner that is rarely found in our experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Florence. It is not in the city centre but is easily accessed via Florence's excellent & modern public transportation.
