A great location on a quiet street near the Duomo.Posted Oct 5, 2013
Pros: Very good location on a quiet street! Our room had a small patio but we couldn't enjoy it as it didn't have chairs or a table...
Cons: The room was very good except that the shower was not draining properly and despite two attempts they couldn't fix it.
Location: Make sure and hire Paolo for a walking tour. His English is great, his historical knowledge is excellent. Nice style, pace and lots of passion.
The hotel is a 3 star. Clean rooms. No elevator but they'll help you with your luggage. Breakfast served in a very nice room with a frescoed ceiling. Bfast is a standard tourist fare.

Very good valuePosted Sep 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Rooms were very nice, felt recently updated and decent size. Beds were comfortable. The hotel is upstairs off a shared entry with the Hotel Columba and Leonardo da Vinci museum. Located in a former palace/residence with many original paintings on the ceilings. Nicer breakfast room and other public spaces than most in the same class. Breakfast was okay, but not as nice as others we had in similar class hotels in Italy. The front desk provided consistently good restaurant suggestions and very helpful with reservations. Overall a very nice stay and we would stay there again.

Great location Amazing staffPosted Jul 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was our first time to Frenzie and we could not have stayed at a better hotel. The location was amazing with in ten minutes to most of the main tourist attractions. It felt like we were in the middle of everything but we still had just the right amount of distance so it was quiet. Both Arianna & Palo were extremely helpful, kind & friendly. They really made our stay pleasant. We will defiantly be staying at Hotel dei Macchiaioli again. Grazie to the staff and hotel!

Only place to stay in Florence!Posted Jun 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
We loved this hotel! It's extremely close to all major sites, just 5 minutes walk from the Duomo and Accademia, and only a short walk from other major sites. It's beautifully kept, the rooms are clean and the staff are as charming as the hotel! Especially Adriana-- what a delight! We plan to return to Florence and wouldn't stay anywhere else! Only downfall is that there is no elevator, but you can request assistance with your bags.

Great locationPosted May 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
Although we only had one night in Florence we were lucky that it was here. The location can't be beat. The staff was courteous and helpful, the roon well-appointed and the breakfast under 13th century frescoes was very good.

Reasonable price in quiet locationPosted May 9, 2013
Location: Not much to do near this location. There are some interesting little local cafes nearby.
This hotel is near the train station, within walking distance or with heavy bags better to take water taxi to first stop. For a first time visitor to Venice, this was a good base. Fairly easy to find and had good facilities at a fair price in comparison to the larger hotels. The breakfast buffet was nice. The room was very clean, well furnished and the bathroom nicely furnished. The rooms are on the small size which I assume is standard for this city.

Excellent location - overpriced thoughPosted Apr 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location - no doubts about it. The rooms were nice and clean - but there were many missing details. For example, there were only 2 pillows for the 2 of us, both very flat. Another example - the towels were of very poor quality - we had white fibre all over us. For a three star hotel, this doesn't bode well. If they were a two star hotel, I would rate them a notch higher.
