Pros: Good central location, close to train station.
Cons: put something in the shower that can hold a bar of soap, put tissues in the bathroom, provide more than 2 plastic cups, if someone uses them.
Location: good location, everything is in walking distance. Duomo is about 10 minutes away.
Women at the front desk were always rude and standoffish. The room was small, smelly, with a view onto an inner airshaft (or something like that). The shower drainage wasn't good and water would back up when the shower was being used. Breakfast was included in price, but you're better off eating somewhere else (stale bread).

Decent place to stay

Posted Jan 5, 2014
Cons: sound-proofing the rooms! Or at least the windows.
Location: Tons to do near by and even a few tasty places to eat, grab some gelati (though pricey), or a cup o' joe.
Great location! You can literally walk to the most popular spots in 10-15 minutes. Breakfast was decent- carb heavy. Downside were the loud sounds outside our room's window that lasted all night long (imagine hundreds of birds cawing for hours long as you try your best to rest from the busy). Front desk was cordial and helpful when asked for assistance.

This hotel was clean, staff were very helpful and the position was great, close all the main sites but also close to the railway station. Breakfast was also great with a large selection to please most people.

Close to the Train Station

Posted Feb 27, 2013
Pros: The location was very convenient. In February there was a chocolate fair on the piazza in front of the church - delicious!
Cons: The noise from pedestrians outside
We chose this hotel because it is close to the train station (Santa Maria Novella). Easy location for walking anywhere in the older part of the city. The staff was helpful, the breakfast was adequate, and the room & bathroom were large. Our room was located on the front, overlooking the pedestrian walk along the side of Santa Maria Novella and this was a busy area for foot traffic at all hours of the day and night, particularly on the weekend. We found it noisy late at night and well into the early morning. Not sure if other rooms had the same problem. In addition, there is not much soundproofing between adjoining hotel rooms, and we could hear our neighbours (ours were not really loud).

Close to train station and tour buses

Found the hotel to be old, quaint and very Italian. Located on the second floor of the building, but elevator was accessible. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Loved it!

Great hotel, shame about the bed

Posted Aug 21, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great hotel, the bed was not so great. Lots of room and great reception, good petit dejeuner and great location. The bed was poor as a slat broke and offered very little support to my husband who kept rolling off the bed. Would stay again though as it was very centrally located and a very pretty room.

This Hotel was orinally build in the 16th century and it seems that it is stuck in that time. It is located very close to the train station which can be good and bad. The bad being noisy, lots of traffic and people and a little far from the main areas. If you are trying to rest and relaxed at night I strongly recommend to take a sleeping pill and to use ear plugs. Breakfast was included but minimal and not fresh. Although the room is outdated everything was clean and the staff was helpful.
