Fede (spelling?) greeted us and was extremely helpful and accommodating. We stayed at this hotel on both ends of a two-week bicycle trip around Tuscany and they agreed to store our suitcases for us during our cycling. Fede had great restaurant recommendations and spoke English pretty well and was so friendly and helpful always. The hotel itself is not fancy but is a solid simple center-city hotel. The rooms were good; bathrooms were in good shape.

This small family-run hotel is in a convenient location, discretely located on a second floor reached by a century-old elevator. The lounge space doubled as a breakfast room (with excellent breakfasts) in the morning. Our room was clean and comfortable and quiet. The wi-fi went out one morning for a short time, and there were a couple of other minor glitches, but we found this just added character to our stay. The real plus for us was the staff who helped us with all needs and left us with hugs feeling like part of the family.

Hotel Goldoni May 2017
Arrived at the Hotel via a very old query lift from street level to reception. Check in was swift & the two rooms ready. We started to unpack & the first think we found no bottom in the main wardrobe drawer, the safe was tempemental & had to get staff to reset a few times. The bed was very firm & wasn't comfortable thus resulting in a bad nights sleep. The breakfast was continental & nothing special. We asked to borrow a couple of wine glasses from the bar but was given a small plastic bathroom tumbler being told it was an health & safety policy., not a way to enjoy a nice bottle of Chianti. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room? The hotel was ideally located for the train station & a ten minute walk. Florence is a gem of a place to visit & quite expensive. On our second day Monday we were aware that many of the museum's are closed in Florance so we went on the bus to Siena which is only an hour away by coach from the bus station, All in all we had a very nice time but would book a better hotel.

The room was a good size with a nice comfortable bed. A mini fridge was also in the room which was nice. wifi perfect. Breakfast was a bit basic but did the trick! The staff were lively and accommodating. Great location.

The walls were paper thin. The bed was not very comfy nor were the pillows. The whole entryway is very strange where you have to go to the 2nd floor to find the receptionist. This was a very cheap hotel but you really do get what you pay for. If all you want is a place to crash, this would work. But if you want to compare this to other hotels, I would consider somewhere else.

Florence Hotel
Hotel (especially the entrance) is a bit odd and some people might be turned off, however we ended up being really glad we picked it. It wasn't the nicest of our stays, but the price was great and the location was great. Main hotel receptionist was super nice and willing to help us with questions.

Nice Italian vacation
Nice hotel! Staff very helpful and mostly spoke English. Safe was not working on first day, but fixed within 2 days of notifying staff and they provided temporary storage of valuables at front desk. Older hotel in quiet part of the tourist neighborhood. Air conditioned room. Walking distance to train station, restaurants , gelato places and major attractions. Good quality cold breakfast included in price.

We elected to stay with Goldini because we had stayed there before. Good walking distance to attractions of the city. And enjoyed the elevator effect. However found breakfast service lacking...and some of the personnel very unfriendly. The beds were also uncomfortable, baths small and service for towels lacking. Doubt that we would stay there again. Obviously change in management. Machine made coffee in Italy does not make it in my book.

Firenze we love you
Hotel Goldini had the best beds we had with good pillows, and a comforter. Florence is compact and easily walkable from the Hotel. Everything worked and the staff were friendly.

The hotel is in a good location - it's close to all the major transactions and to some nice restaurants. The hotel itself isn't great. The night porter didn't speak English. The room was very basic though it was clean. The mini bar didn't work - it was plugged in but empty and not even slightly cold. The front of the safe had been removed, so the safe couldn't be closed, let alone locked. So there was nowhere secure to put our passports or anything of importance when we left the room. The air con was good. The room we were in was right next to the reception. At 7.30/8am each morning children would come shouting down the corridor. It was like they were in the room with us - the door/wall offered no sound cancelling. The women who presumably worked there and the cleaners would shout down the corridor to each other which was very loud. We could hear the radio and tv from the bar in our room throughout the day and night. The breakfast was typical continental - I think - presumably if you got there early enough there would have been meats and eggs etc available but by the time we got there - an hour into a two hour breakfast period, all that was left was bread, preserves and cereal. On the whole, we were quite disappointed. Yes, it is a cheap hotel, but as a basic I would expect the facilities (minibar, safe) to work and not to be awakened by screaming children and shouting adults each morning.

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel, and booked it expecting a basic hotel in a central location. The location was superb, walking distance to everything. Our room was basic at best - it was cold and dull and not like the pictures on the website (cold white floor tiles, white bedsheets and pale walls). The bathroom was clean but very small - so small that when sitting on the toilet, your legs were under the basin! There was no air-con...It was fine for 1 or 2 nights, but 3 nights was pushing it! Also, the "free Wifi" was basically non-existent. If I stood near the window of our room I could get 1 bar of wifi signal!! Anywhere else in the room it would drop out, so I often had to go and sit near reception to use the wifi.

The hotel is situated on the second floor of an old building. The elevator is from the 40's era, with doors to be closed manually and only for 2 persons. on the 2nd day of our stay the elevator was out of service. We are elderly people and my wife has difficulty climbing stairs. One can imagine what we went through getting to our room on the 2nd floor. This being an old building, each floor is very high. Our night mare started during our chech out time when I had to go up and down several times to bring our luggage and my wife down. Breakfast is at most average, nothing special to write home about. Bath room is very small and shower door is about 12 inches wide. It was difficult to exen enter sideways. One can see our stay at this hotel was not a pleasant one. I am a seasoned world traveller, and complaining is not my nature. But this hotel does not deserve to be recommended anything higher than below minimum. I wonder who rated this as a 3 star hotel. Calling it a 2 star will be a stretch.

Nice family run hotel in centre of Florence
We enjoyed our 6 night stay at Hotel Goldoni. It was family run, and very clean. Hotel staff were very helpful, and able to answer questions about areas to visit. We were able to enjoy their nice breakfast in leisurely fashion before starting out our day. We felt very safe and secure in this hotel, and would recommend it to others.

Well situated and comfortable.
The hotel was very well situated for the main attractions of Florence and one street away from the River Arno. Typical of the hotel was the retro lift which took you up to the second floor hotel, an interesting feature. The room was comfortable with a good bathroom and a super shower. The beds were comfortable but there were no facilities for making tea and coffee which meant nothing until breakfast, oh, and the tv didn't work but we didn't have time to watch it any way. The breakfast was a meagre continental affair with cereals, tea, coffee and fruit juices, a toaster which never made decent toast and a variety of croissants. Having pointed out the negatives, we did have an enjoyable stay and quite liked the old fashioned elegance of the hotel.

The staff were awesome. I really liked the older gentleman at night. He had a certain class about him. Breakfast wasn't bad. Free wifi is only available in lounge, but that's no big deal. This was best feeling bed that we had in 2 weeks in Italy. The room was fairly large for what we found elsewhere in Italy. I would stay here again anytime.

We found the hotel staff friendly and relaxed. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and tasty. Hotel itself was easy to find and only 5-10 mins walk from the main piazzas and train station, yet still very quiet at night. Leaving our luggage with them for the day when we checked out was free of charge. Great place to stay! (Also there is a gem of a restaurant in the basement of the building directly opposite. Good prices, amazing food!)

The best aspect of this hotel was its location. Within walking distance of the train station and many tourist attractions. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The comfort of one of the twin beds was inadequate. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

Not a Hotel - Just a Guest Motel
Goldoni hotel as one floor hotels go in Itlay is OK. There are better places for better prices just blocks away. Breakfast is not as good as in other hotels. The staff has rigid rules and if you need additional care, forget it. My room safe did not work, they could not fix it and the hotel safe was questionable, so I carried all my valuables with me daily. The bathroom fixtures needed repair and they had excusses for not fixing them. No adjustment to price was made for inconvenience. I tired to cancel the end of stay and they would not allow cancellation. It was the season was their excuse. Beware of cancellation policies.

Good hotel, great location!
Our stay in Hotel Goldoni was quite pleasant. The location is great (~10 minute walk from the Florence train station and other sites in Florence). We were easily able to walk everywhere with the hotel as a convenient base. The staff was all helpful and pleasant and spoke enough English for us to easily get by. The breakfast (included with the price of the room) was pretty good and left us full and ready to start each day. The only thing I didn't really like was that the bathroom was kind of dark and smelled a bit musty the first day. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again. The value was great for the price.

Good value hotel
The staff at the Goldoni were very pleasant and helpful, with most of those I spoke to fluent in english. The room was small but well appointed; plus-size travellers would probably struggle in a single room like mine. Lack of wifi or internet connection (unless you had signed up to an italian internet card scheme) was a disappointment in a hotel of this class. Breakfast was extremely disappointing - coffee now comes from a commercial machine and tasted cheap and watery. Croissants were dry and several days old. I note this is a complaint dating back several years, and would have expected improvement. That said, in Italy I find most hotel breakfasts inferior to just going out to a cafe. Overall it was a pleasant hotel and one I would go back to.

[...]. The hotel was at the weird location, on the second level above someone else's residence. The room was old and gloomy, the bed was stinking. We knew we had to spend just a night otherwise we could have changed the hotel when we saw the room at 1230AM. Also the staff didn't know proper English; it would have been nightmare to explain the staff about our problems. We slept in the room that night and both of us woke up sneezing in the morning. It was because of the unhygienic condition of the room. We had to take the morning tour so we started getting ready. Another nightmare the shower wasn't working, only two holes from the shower head was pouring water. We tried to fix it without any luck. Somehow we got ready with all these pains. We were 20 minutes late for our tour, we had to take taxi to catch up with the tour.We literally had nightmare at the Hotel Goldoni after paying(161.38) so much for the hotel that was not worth for the price with all the inconvenience. We are highly disappointed and thinking about not using [...] for the Hotel Goldoni that gave us troubles during our Europe trip.Sincerely,Kal

A little gem in a wonderful position
This is a lovely old hotel on the 2nd floor of a very old building close to the river and many of Florence's historical and cultural sites. It is about 15 minutes walk from the train / bus station at Santa Maria Novella but the many road works make it difficult for a stranger to find the way. The hotel is served by a lovely old lift, a museum piece in itself, which works extremely well. The staff are all very helpful, breakfast good and plentiful and everywhere is spotlessly clean.

Hotel service was outstanding and the location convenient to visit all the major sites. It's close to the Arno River, 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio. Might be a little hard to find, but once there it is well worth the stay.

We loved staying here so much that we cancelled one of our days in Rome so we could stay longer. The people who work there were extremely helpful in telling us how to get around. We especially loved the old, old elevator! Such a cool place!

Very few plus points to Goldoni
Hotel Goldoni is centrally located and easy to access the main attractions, not a unique selling point as there are alot more hotels in better locations. The staff are not helpful or friendly, local knowledge is something they are not willing to provide. Asking for instruction on how to get hot water out of the machine in the breakfast room was too much trouble as was saying good morning in Italian or English, breakfast is the usual continental style, the croissants are fresh, but there are no fresh meats and cheese, all are long life and are designed to be least labour saving for the staff. The rooms are really small, and the bathroom is a complete joke, it must win the competition for the smallest bathroom in any hotel we have ever stayed in. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of residential apartments and is accessed via a grubby lobby area where there is a lift to the 2nd floor. The map also shows the hotel to be on the River Arno, its not and is located in a back street above a couple of bars. One positive point is that the beds were comfortable, but that would not indice us back to the Goldoni.

Goldoni is a true treasure of Florence
Located just two doors down from the birthplace of Amerigo Vespucci and from Ognissanti, one of the most reknowned churches in Florence, the Goldoni is a true little treasure. Just a few steps ( and the turn of a corner) from the Arno, it shares the neighborhood of the most expensive and exclusive hotels, but it is affordable and very pleasant on a small scale. We were delighted with the remade palazzo that contains the hotel and with the comfortable (but tiny) room. Breakfasts in a period dining room are excellent, suited to almost all tastes, and the room remains open all day with free internet service. The staff is unfailingly helpful and good humored. I would return without hesitation.

Окно выходит в колодец с канализационными трубами по стенам, даже с закрытыми окнами слышно как соседи спускают туалет, вентиляции нет вообще, все запахи стоят в номере, номер очень темный и затхлый, отель давно не обновлялся, завтраки скудные, персонал неприветливый. Своих денег отель не стоит совсем.
