Can't beat the location - easy access to everywher

Posted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: Great location for the cost.
Cons: Maybe have a couple of English TV channels.
Location: Restaurants, shopping, leather market, Mercato Centrale
The room is clean and spacious. The hotel is close to Florence main train station, the famous 'leather market', Mercato Centrale, the Art Academy Gallery (where the Statue of David is) and the street is lined with restuarants, cafes, bars, ....etc..... Also within walking distance (15-20 mins) to all other museums, galleries, down to the river, brasillica...The street was noisy thru out the evening due to its full of restaurant and bars, but once you closed the windows, it was completely quiet - its amazing. The only noise that is annoying a bit is the bathroom ventilation fan.

Location is important.

Posted Jun 13, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Breakfast did not have fruit.
Location: Start with St. Maria Novella church.
This hotel is close enough to station yet far enough to eliminate excessive noise and traffic. Walkable to all important sites. Checked in on Sunday evening and desk clerk was very polite but not especially helpful. May have been charged a cancellation fee due to his inability to work with "Expedia". Seems only the boss can do those reservations.

Nice hotel, lovely staff

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: In addition to the staff and the location, I appreciated all the eco-friendly efforts they made.
Location: All the main highlights are within a short walk, and buses and trams are easily found at the nearby train station.
We spent three nights at the Hotel Kursaal Ausonia. The accommodation was basic but clean, comfortable and fantastically welcoming. The staff were helpful and a delight to deal with throughout the stay. It's a short walk from the train station, making it an extremely convenient base for exploring the city. Would definitely visit again.

Average hotel with might-not-working wifi

Posted Jan 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
It's a basic hotel (don't feel like a 3 star to me) where the reception is in the 3rd floor. Our room is in 2nd floor and every time you leave the hotel you need to go upstairs to leave your key, it's not too handy but nor a problem just it seems you need some luck to get everything working. Our Wi-Fi most of the time doesn't work, the night time staff couldn't help, and the one in daytime was calling for us and trying hard to solve the issue, it works for a only a while...and the safe is not working unless there's a special card for it and the nighttime staff in reception seems having trouble to find one for us, and the lady next door was complaining that she has no water in her room, the man replied that the whole area is out of water that night but weird enough we found our room is fine with water!! Otherwise the hotel is close by the central market and railway station, toilet seems to be renovated recently.

City Break

Posted Nov 27, 2013
Pros: Close to the sites. Some rooms have good views. Breakfast included and typical continental. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.
Cons: We were put in Room 1 which was near the breakfast area so noisy early morning. We changed rooms. Rooms were quite cold at times.
Location: Good location near the central market, St Lorenzo, Santa Maria Novella and the Duomo. Good cafe a few doors down.
We chose this hotel because of the central location, near the station and good price.

Solid hotel for the price and location

Posted Oct 10, 2013
The hotel itself was perfectly nice, though in a very touristy and somewhat charmless neighborhood just outside the historic downtown. It's near the main train station and a quick (10 min walk) to the Duomo cathedral. We had a small, basic room at a reasonable price. It was quite clean and had a mini-fridge (very useful). Bathroom was also small but clean with plenty of hot water. There was no wireless internet and the computer in the lobby (meant for internet use) was either not working or very slow while we were there. Staff was friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was OK, not amazing but perfectly fine.

good hotel near railway station

Posted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Friendly and convenient
Cons: It's quite small and that can't be changed and isn't a real problem
Location: Near everything
We stayed here for 3 nights recently and found it to be a convenient and very pleasant small hotel. It's within easy walking distance of the railway station - though if the name Via Nationale makes you think of a large road, it's not, and neither is it called Via Nationale in the section near the station! Our room was quite small but had the only balcony on our floor - with a view which included the Doumo. The balcony is small too and has netting to stop pigeons, of which Florence has many. The breakfasts are good, though the main room in which they can be eaten is again quite small and has a long communal table. There are other small table in two adjoining rooms which serve as a bar and a TV room. The bathroom (and I mean bathroom! ) was well equipped and nicely tiled. The staff were all very helpful and all speak good English.

Okay hotel! Would reccommend!

Posted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Breakfast and size of room.
Cons: Bathroom needs to be renovated!
Location: Close to everything. Lots of bars, restaurants and close to many sightseeing sights!
Tiny shower! And everything was falling apart in the shower, water wasn't draining. Apart from the disappointing bathroom, the rest of the room was great! Breakfast was included and it was DELICIOUS. Hotel staff was great as well!

Our Florence accomodation

Posted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: Great location, quaint character, friendly staff, good size room, comfortable and good size bed.
Cons: Lack of decent light reducing curtains meant the room was flooded with light at night from flood lights on adjacent buildings. Poor water pressure.
Location: Meusems, cathedrals, markets, classy shops, restaurants and bars all conveniently located.
The hotel is in a great location, near railway station, museums, restaurants, piazzas, cathedral, markets, ponte veccio. etc. Staff were very good and assisted us resolve a language difficulty with a French tour provider. Included breakfast was good as were hotel facilities in general. Free WiFi, fridge, but no coffee facilities in room. We had room 6 and our shower had very low water flow - would be an issue in cold weather. Real issue was that we had a large window with only very light transparent curtains. This meant we were awake from the start of dawn. Worse as the building opposite turned on roof flood lights at night our room was flooded with light throughout the night. We ended up having to pin a blanket over the curtain.
