Wonderful Hotel Laurus al DoumoPosted Jul 25, 2014
Location: A superb location! The hotel is within 2 minutes walking distance of the marvellous Duomo & Uffizi Gallery as well as a multitude of great restaurants
One of our favourite hotels! Beautifully situated right in the heart of all the action & ambience of Florence. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds & great showers -- be sure to request a room overlooking the street. It's just magic when you open the shutters & windows Another must is a free walking tour run by the proprietors of the hotel as part of their wonderful " Life Beyond Tourism " program

good choice in FlorencePosted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: room was remodeled, desk people were great (especially the lady), location was very good for what we were doing (close to train, Duomo and Uffizzi).
Cons: It was all good.
Location: 3 blocks to train, 2 to Duomo and 3-4 to Uffizzi. Shops and restaurants everywhere. City Market was a pleasant surprise.
I chose the hotel because it was rated well, had king beds and was close to the Duomo. Other than that it was all a pleasant surprise. Nice room, nice people, good location, good breakfast.

Superb locationPosted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Nice clean friendly hotel. Buffett breakfast on the terrace is a must.
Cons: Would be nice if the terrace was non-smoking at breakfast.
Location: All attractions are within easy walking distance. The train/bus station is within easy walking distance for day trips to Pisa, Sienna etc.
Very good stay at this hotel, would definitely recommend it. The terrace for breakfast and evening drinks is also very good with a lovely view over the Dumo. The room was clean and tidy and we arrived earlier than check in time but the room was ready so were able to gain access and were allowed to leave our luggage with the hotel after checking out which was great. If you are planning to visit the Uffizi or Galleria I would definitely suggest you book in advance as the queues can be up to 2-3 hours long, with tour groups and pre-bookings getting priority.

Excellent hotel very close to centre of FlorencePosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Everything was very organised and friendly staff
Cons: The only thing I would say is the wait when we arrived to check-in at the hotel where ideally would have had more than one person serving.
Location: Florence is wonderful and there a host of things to see and do and at close quarters, both of cultural and shopping/eating variety.
Very good stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Enjoyed the balcony restaurant for both breakfasts (which included everything you could need) and evening drinks (the barman was especially helpful and remembered what we liked on repeat visits). The room was everything as expected - clean, tidy and looked after, with polite chamber staff. Hotel staff even went beyond their duty to help after we had left as our son and partner were still in Florence (staying elsewhere) but were allowed to leave their luggage at our hotel for a few hours before their train left (where their own hotel would not oblige) - this was impressive and appreciated. If we ever return to Florence, would certainly stay here again.

Hotel in FlorencePosted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The location was very convenient and the room very nicely furnished and clean. Staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast buffet was excellent.
Cons: Outdoor areas, such as the veranda at the breakfast room allow smoking - would have been nice to have a smoke-free outdoor table,
Location: Florence has great shopping, beautiful churches, art museums, and good restaurants.
We stayed here while visiting Florence. It is well located for shopping and sightseeing and restaurants.

Short trip to FlorencePosted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Very central to all places of interest. Quiet room with good bathroom. Very pleasant to have breakfast on terrace.
Cons: Softer mattress on bed and more croissants and brown bread at breakfast
Location: All major places of interest within walking distance of the hotel. Restaurants of every grade also within easy walking distance.
Arranging travel to and from Pisa airport was very easy. Over abundance of travel groups causing lengthy queues and crowding at places of interest. Florence could do with a few "green places with seats" to rest awhile when the temperature rises!

Pros: The room as very comfortable and clean.
Cons: It would be nice if breakfast were included.
Location: It is very close to the Duomo and not a far walk from the train station. The location is very convenient.
This was one of the nicest hotels we stayed in during our 3-week trip to Europe. We level of cleanliness and comfort was top-notch.

Perfect locationPosted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: Good customer service, smart rooms, very clean and location location location.
Cons: The hotel sign "Hotel Laurus al Duomo" needs to be more prominent. We walked passed the hotel and a local person pointed it out to us.
Location: The hotel's name Laurus al Duomo speaks for it self, location is that good I would say everything is in walking distance once you get your baring's.
My daughter and I spent five nights at this hotel, and it could not have been in a better location. The room had a view of the city, and was of a good size and very clean. Breakfast/cocktail bar was served on the roof top terrace with views of the Duomo, a perfect place to start a day and to wind down in the late evening with a drink. Most of the staff spoke English and all were very pleasant and helpful. The train station is a very short walk and if you use the bus service from the airport you are dropped off and picked up outside the train station! Lovely hotel in a beautiful city.
