Smart hotel near to centrePosted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Comfort; service; location
Cons: Value for money for all food and drink
Location: On banks of river Arno right by pontevecchio. Close to centre and attractions such as el duomo; market; station etc
Good quality hotel with attentive and friendly porters and old fashioned turndown service. Not much room to sit in lounge areas with river views. Incredibly expensive food and drinks and mini bar. €5.00 for a small bottle of mineral water! Have stayed at some of the top london hotels which are no more expensive so ate out for all meals.

Quiet hotel, great location & servicePosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Location, Staff, size
Location: Walk anywhere. Many restaurants. Walking distance to all major stops in Firenze.
We had a wonderful stay and would come back for sure. The hotel staff was wonderful. A special thanks to Simon (concierge) who made our stay in Florence even more special. Mille Gracie!

Great hotel on the riverPosted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, and more than happy to recommend restaurants and sights to see.
An excellent hotel on the banks of the river, a few minutes walk from the ponte vecchio. Very well placed for all the sights and some great restaurants close by.

Lungarno, FlorencePosted May 30, 2014
Pros: unpretentiously smart, the staff were excellent, smart bar/lounge overlooking the river/old town
Cons: the fixtures and fittings (the lift, bathroom etc) are starting to age, but were very high quality when installed so have stood the test of time well
Location: Oltrano is a more "local" part of Florence so has some unusual shops, great (better value) restaurants
a friendly but professional service with very helpful recommendations about where to eat (the one for seafood resto Flor d'acqua resulted in one of the best seafood meals we have had). We had a room upgrade to one with a terrace so the views across the Arno river to the Duomo and Ponte Vecchio were superb.

Luxury with a viewPosted May 26, 2014
Owned by the Ferragamo family, Hotel Lungarno is an ode to style, luxury and elegance. The hotel staff are not only exceptional and expectedly nice, but when prompted, will direct you toward hidden gems within the city of Firenze. Hotel Lungarno is situated on the Oltrarno side of the Arno River, a trendy spot for locals that isn't teeming with tour groups. After a day of sightseeing or meandering through back alleys, the lounge at Hotel Lungarno offers a relaxing view of the Ponte Vecchio over the rim of a relaxing spritz. Here, one can find themselves mesmerized by the blue waves of the arno--but, just don't forget to check out the original artwork of Picasso and contemporaries on the walls. At the Hotel Lungarno, one can definitely feel as though you've taken a vacation within a vacation. A relaxing retreat to soak in the beauty of Italian splendor.

Luxury, comfort, convenience!Posted May 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
My husband and I had four wonderful nights at Hotel Lungarno during our honeymoon. We loved the location - south of the Arno so a little quieter, but still very close to all of the action on both sides of the river. The hotel was beautiful, right on the Arno river. It's worth paying extra for a river-view room! Quieter, and gorgeous. The breakfast buffet was delicious - we didn't pre-pay for it but we should have, as we ate there every morning. Great toiletries, comfortable room, etc. You get what you pay for - a lot! My only criticism was that twice we called reception (for dinner reservations and for assistance) and each time I was told they would call us back but in both cases I had to call them back. Certainly not a deal breaker though. I'd highly recommend this hotel and would return without question.
