Phone ahead, if you want a room without moldPosted Nov 6, 2013
Cons: Breakfast coffee
Location: Near to Il Duomo, near to the train station, near to the backpackers getto
We booked this hotel for 9 days. We arrived on Saturday and the our room was awfull - small, we could smell mold, could not unpack our bags because there were no closets to speak of, the ceiling of the timy bathroom ripped completely off - I stayed in hostels in Western Africa that were better than this room! When we went down to a reception to complain and my wife told them that she has a serious asthma - you know what their response was? "You should have told us before." Tell them what? That we would prefer a room without mould? On the brighter side, the next day we moved to a room that was quite acceptable for the rest of our stay. And the location of the hotel is great - a few blocks from Il Duomo and also very near to a train station.

Good location - breakfast room ridiculously small.Posted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: Only the location.
Cons: Using a bigger room for breakfast. Improving the quality of the beds. Better service regarding requests for pillows etc.
Location: Florence is a fantastic place to visit, but take plenty of money. You will need it! The hotel is well situated between the railway station and centre.
Breakfast was an unpleasant experience due to the room being ridiculously small. We (and others) had to wait for tables and I wonder how much worse this situation is in peak season (we were there late September). There was a continuous, loud noise as dishes and cutlery was cleared and the buffet was very limited. The bed was not very comfortable and we had to wait 24hrs for extra pillows. The hotel is well located however, and the standard was probably what you'd expect for the price in this beautiful but very expensive city. We were a party of four and none of us would want to put up with these conditions again.

Pros: Spacious, quiet room that was very nicely decorated. Relatively clean. It was close to the train station and to the main sites.
Cons: Water pressure! Front desk staff should be more friendly. Wi-fi should be included or priced more reasonably. There was mould in the shower.
Location: 10-15 minute walk from the train station. 10-15 minutes from both the Uffizzi and Academia (each in opposite directions). 5 minutes from the Duomo.
Quite close to the train station and main sites. We had a very spacious room which was very nicely decorated (chandelier and even the ceiling was painted) and the room was quiet. But things that really count were missing: I've never had such poor water pressure - it was literally a drip in both the sink and shower. That made keeping clean in such heat a difficult chore. Wi-fi was outrageous at $16 Euros/24 hrs and the staff were not very friendly.

A Place to SleepPosted Jul 21, 2013
Pros: Convenient location. Only 2 blocks from the train station and Duomo.
Location: Great location. Could walk to everything within 10-15 minutes.
Room was larger than most European hotels, but dated looking and feeling.
