“A beautiful, typically Tuscan hotel”

I was amazed that the photographs on the website were almost an exact duplicate of the actual hotel. Staff was helpful in every way, lemon trees, flowers in the garden were maintained beautifully. Would definitely stay at the Monna Lisa again.

“Great experience”

Best hotel in Florence for the money. We stayed 15 years ago and this time was even better. JC from NYC

“Awesome hotel!”

It was a beautiful place to stay - an old castle turned monastery, turned hotel. There were monna lisa's all over the place! The breakfast was delicious, down to the smallest detail of making a foam heart in my cappacchino. The service was great, staff very pleasant and more than willing to help us or chat with us. They seemed to care alot and I felt like I was special! It was a very home like place. Each day they helped us map out things we wanted to see and made reservations when we needed them. Everything was wonderful. It is located very close to most things and there are many wonderful places to eat that are near, and they suggested great restaurants. I cannot say enough about the staff. They were great! The room was very clean and each day we got clean towels and sheets and a daily paper. The bathroom was furnished with all things needed and things were checked and replaced daily. I loved the breakfast! The coffee, cheese and fruit was so wonderful! Fresh juice and a bar open for night caps with a wonderful bartender who would sit and chat if you wanted to! There was a computer available to use if you purchased cards at the desk as well. Exploring the hotel was great - each room was an adventure. We felt like we left friends when it was time to go home!

“A Wonderful Experience”

Not only does this hotel have a great location, the room was charming and the staff was that of a 5 star hotel. Period furniture and decorations enhance your feel of old Florence, while the bathroom still feels clean and 'new'. If we are lucky enough to return to Florence we will book this hotel again.

“A great way to begin the day and later gather your thoughts.”

The Monna Lisa (the spell checker does not agree with 2n's) begins our day with a wonderful buffet breakfast. Numerous attractive siting rooms to help gather thoughts and musings. And of course a very helpful staff to help plan the day.

“Paradise behind the wall”

One of my favorite places to stay. We will be back. Pulling up in the taxi, it's just a door in the alley with a brass name plate on the wall. Enter into a courtyard with 500 year old frescoes on the ceiling. The property is fabulous. The staff could not be nicer, or more professional. Much of the main building is original, including the staircase right off the front desk and the floor to ceiling doors and terracotta floors in the breakfast room which date back 700 years. We stayed in the annex which is across the courtyard from the main building and probably not quite as cool, but still very nice. The restored 54 Lambretta scooter in our lobby was pretty cool too.

“Beautitful garden and atmospere”

We enjoyed staying at this hotel. It had a very relaxing and beautiful garden. The breakfast was very good and included some very nice items. THe fronet desk was helpful but not overly friendly.
