“Excellent neighborhood hotel”

Unlike most visitors, we stayed for 2 weeks. There were only a few American visitors during that time, but many local Europeans who were very friendly. Hotel personel could not of been more friendly and helpful. Good size rooms for Europe. Many excellent resturants in walking distance. Took bus occasionally. Fair distance to city centre, but on vacation no hurry. Take a taxi to and from airport...

“Excellent Hotel in the Heart of Florence”

This is probbably the best hotel I stayed in during my visit to europe! The room was huge (for european standards), clean, and with a nice balcony view. They label their rooms, and oure was the rosa rossa (make sure you ask for it, as it has the best view on the last floor of the building). The breakfast was varied, with hot chocolat (yummy and thick), expresso (italiano or Americano), cafe latte, y capuccino. They had fresh croissants, bread, jam, butter, cereal, juice, etc. The location was perfect. Just around the corner there was the main street, where there are many stores. Just a 15 minute walk, and you get to the center of the city. Everything in this hotel is nearby. The service was excellent, the daytime receptionist spoke good english and was very helpful. The evening shift, though neither of them spoke english, were eager to help as well (by signals, or very slowly spoken italian). All in all, an excellent hotel. Would not hesitate to stay there on my next visit to FLorence!

“Would definately stay again”

We had a great time staying at the Orcagna. The staff was friendly and helpful, with lots of dining suggestions. The room was very clean and comfortable, and the breakfast is very nice. A great place to stay, in a wonderful city!

“Lovely Staff, Lovely atmosphere, Plain Lovely!”

On arrival were warmly welcomed and given a map of Florence on which she showed us where we could get buses into town then where the buses would drop us on the way back, she showed us all the taxi ranks and highlighted all the main attractions. It was the first of our italian hotels to really take some time and make us feel welcomed! The Rooms were basic but very clean and nicely presented, We had a small balcony overlooking the rear of the hotel which was lovely to sit out on for some warm morning air! The older lady on reception spoke to us in very basic Italian which was easy to understand and made us feel good about ourselves that we could converse. The walk into the historical center took about 15 minutes but the road was straight and lined with little shops and the time passed quick as a flash. The names on the doors were a nice touch!!! The Breakfast was basic but tasty! A brilliant little hotel especially considering the low price!

“Great find out of the city centre”

Friendly staff made the stay at the Hotel Orcagna memorable. The reception at a late check-in was outgoing and helpful, and when we had questions, the front desk went out of their way to answer them. A nice breakfast every day, and a location that is a bit off the beaten path (plenty of great restaurants around the hotel) made for a very enjoyable stay in Florence.

“Good value for money!”

Have just spent a long week-end at the hotel, as part of my wife's 60th birthday celebrations. The hotel is excellent value for money, obviously not five star at these prices, but is well run, clean and well situated just out of the expensive centre of Florence. The staff, most of whom spoke good English, could not have been more helpful, and were more than willing to advise on Restaurants and bus routes around the city. I would have no hesitation to return or recommend to a friend.

Very well located in a quiet, non touristy neighborhood, 15-20 min walk from historic center. Bus station nearby, if you don't want to walk. The hotel itself would need some updating. Clean room and bathroom. Internet free, and worked very well. Ask at the front desk for user name/password. Really friendly and very helpful staff. Good stores and restaurants nearby.

“Nice central Hotel in the nicest city in Italy”

As soon as we arrive the receptionist was very helpful, showing us all the places to visit in Florence, advising us of nice place to eat according to budget. the room was lovely and very comfortable. the only down side is parking, as they dont have free parking! But again, they give us good advice on where to park. if i go back to Florence, def would go back to this hotel!

“excellent features for low price”

the hotel is 2 blocks away from Piazza Becarria. While not in the center of historical Firenze it is quite close, and the neighborhood is thriving with locals. taxi from train station costs 11 euro. Also, it is almost directly across the Arno from Piazzale Michelangelo, and this stretch of the water has footpath right along the bank, unlike the strech near Ponto Vecchio. In short, the location is good. The room we had was spacious and opens onto a balcony overlooking the backyard. The service is excellent. There is one computer for internet access. There are also bikes for rental at 5 euro per day. We took the bikes for a ride to Fiesole, which is not bad even for bikes with single gear, and the scenery is fabulous. Summary: not a luxury hotel, but comfortable and convenient.

“Wonderful trip to Florence”

Well located, large rooms with balconies, large bathroom, even elevator for small size hotel. Humble but sufficient breakfast, parking garage (for additional fee which perfectly OK). Clean, friendly, family type enviroment. Excellent banf for a buck!
