Cute & convenient boutique hotelPosted May 30, 2014 on Hotels.com
Wonderful stay at Hotel Palazzo dal Bargo! Very convenient location near the Santa Maria Novella stazione. All staff were kind and helpful. The room was clean and so cute! And breakfast in the bar and outdoor seating area was delicious and such a great way to start the day in Firenze. There is also a fabulous wine bar and ristorante just down the street with outdoor seating. Great specials, very good prices for a true Italian dinner. Italy in general needs to work on the shower doors that are half size - we kept soaking the floor. Not a huge deal, just something we noticed that could use some attention, or maybe just instruction! We will be back and we would absolutely stay here again, and would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Firenze experience. Grazie Hotel Palazzo dal Bargo!

It was old hotel.Posted Mar 18, 2014
The mattress was very old and not comfortable at all. Also bed was like a temporary frame.. We did not expect that.. Also breakfast was not well prepared except espresso.

A two star hotel with an improper ratingPosted Jan 9, 2014
Pros: it was near the main train terminal and in the Duomo area. For a four star hotel seemed like a good deal, however it is not a real four star but two
Cons: Everything from the lobby, the rooms, the dining staff. It is a two star hotel however much the building is old and was a Palazzo 500 years ago.
Location: Very near the main train station, walking distance to the main attractions of Florence however in a dark street while many hotels are in nice squares.
This is a terrible hotel and it is completely overrated by the star system. The real rating should be two stars. Lobbying lacking, understaffed, old rooms with outdated furniture, rude staff at breakfast, dark beat off street. I thought there was a mistake in my reservation as I was expecting something completely different. It is obvious there is a mistake in this hotel rating which is placed at the door of the hotel and should be corrected. If you are expecting a nice hotel four star in Florence don´t stay here.

Convenient to the train stationPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Its location was great. The staff was terrific. The room was large and there was plenty of space for a family of four.
Cons: The air conditioning units were too loud. A room away from the street would have been better.
Location: It is a five minute walk to the train station, literally around the corner from the Church of Santa Maria Novella. Lots of cafes in the area.
The hotel is a quick walk to the train station and the Duomo. Couldn't be more convenient. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was simple but good, and the hotel had a very interesting history. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Our only complaint was that it was on a street that was somewhat noisy at night, and the air conditioning was loud.

Nice hotel and great hotelPosted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Location, staff, internet access, breakfast, patio, air condition, the room itself.
Cons: bathroom, elevator, noisy filtering for rooms facing the street.
The hotel was close to the train station and other sites, staying on this side of Florence is definitely key to explore some nice churches and plazas. Very close to the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella and within a 10-15min walk to the river, Ponte A. Vespucci and Piazza della Signoria! the Hotel itself could be a little better, we stayed on a non street room so our room was quiet but if you are on the street side it can be loud. The room had a really small bathroom (below European standards) and I traveled to places like Rome, London and Paris but still not horrible. The elevator is also really small and will give you issues if you are not used to very small spaces, luckily our room was in the 2nd floor and we were able to take the stairs everyday. The hotel breakfast was great, well recommended! the staff was very helpful and nice all the time, you have to leave your key every time you go out and pick it up when you come back so if you don't mind this then you are ok. If I go back to Florence I would probably look elsewhere as I didn't love the hotel but it wasn't bad either.
