Posted Aug 31, 2014
Pros: Great location!
Cons: Breakfast menu expanded.
Location: Uffizzi Gallery, Academia, Piazza duomu, many restaurants, trip to Fieosole is a must, city bus, and trains very close by.
Hotel staff was helpful a d pleasant. Just ask them where to eat. Central located. Room a little small, air conditioning worked well. Maid service friendly. Breakfast staff excellent but menu a little li ited for Italy standards.

Fabulous Florence

Posted Aug 31, 2014
This hotel is centrally placed for all the attractions in Florence. Lovely large rooms in a converted former Palace. It is dripping in history. Adequate breakfast which you can take on the terrace! Look up at the frescos in the breakfast room - stunning! The staff are very friendly and made our stay complete we would certainly return!

Close to everything you ever want to see

Posted Aug 9, 2014
My room was way on the third floor in the back. Barely any fresh air but the room has most of the essentials for your travels. Staff are so friendly and helpful. They make up for the weird room layout and the lack of fresh air. The breakfast was pretty decent, self-serve. Need to report your name to the staff to seat.

Very convenient location with Firenze spirit

At first glance hotel seems run down, however it grows on you. The location is superb, everything is walking distance, building is beautiful, very high ceilings, lovely view. I would stay there again.

Nice hotel - close to the center, train station

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: vintage style, location, breakfast was great
Cons: Need TLC - shower did not stay where it should, AC did not work (29C), bed not comfortable, need bigger TV
Location: perfect location. right in the center - few minutes walk to the center, few minutes to the train station
AC was not working and could not be controlled from the room, front desk could not improved it much, one side of the bed was sagging.

Historical building, close to sites, very dated!

Posted Jun 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
First let me begin by saying Florence is very expensive to begin with, second this hotel has some charm due to its age and history, but with that comes some setbacks. On the positive you are just a five to ten minute walk down the road from the main train station. This is why we chose this hotel as we were touring Tuscany by train. It is within a ten minute walk to Il Duomo, Uffizi, etc. so the location is perfect. The downside is this hotel is old and dated, with rooms that are tiny. Our room was about 10 feet wide and had a loft for the bed. Cozy but not what I was expecting. If the price is right you might want to check it out. If not, keep looking.

Excellent Choice for Florence Visit

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Quiet, clean and comfortable room with view of the Duomo. Convenient and pleasant first floor breakfast area. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Location: All the major Florence museums and churches are within a 15 minute walk. Train station is close by with convenient train service to Sienna
Excellent and convenient hotel location: 5 minutes from Florence main train and bus stations, and 5 minutes from the Duomo. Short walks to most of the major Florence museums, shops and restaurants. While there are many tours available, the center of Florence is easy to navigate and a tour is not essential. English is widely spoken, and the streets and squares are well marked. Weather in mid-May is sunny and comfortable. Fiesole, a small town some 3 kilometers from Florence, is up on the hills above Florence with good views of the City and with a hint of wine country beyond. It's easy to reach by bus.

Good location, undergoing renovation

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Show actual condition of the hotel
Location: Close to train station, but off of the traffic, no real traffic noise except for sirens. Excellent reasonable rest across street, family atmosphere.
Pros: Great location, 200 yards from train station, 300 yards from Duomo. Beautiful ceiling in breakfast room Con: Undergoing renovation; elevator to 2 floors only with 5 floors of rooms. Not good if you cannot do stairs do not stay here. Put in top floor room, 85 stairs, whew. Bellman struggled with luggage, but with a smile. Our room was odd sized with a mezzanine and window too high to see out of, however workmen renovating the roof could look inside just fine. Water pressure in shower was disappointingly low, and fixtures were worn out.
