Excellent

Posted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing that we noticed.
This is an excellent boutique hotel! The hotel is beautiful inside and out. Our room was very nicely decorated, clean, and extremely well equipped! The service here, in one word, is Exceptional! I won't list all the details to prove it because there are too many except saying that it's very good value for your money. This is in no means the most expensive hotel we stayed in Italy during our trip but is definitely the best. So book your stay here and experience it yourself. You can't go wrong.

Good location, Amazing staff

Posted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: Rooms were generous size, very good breakfast buffet plus staff was more than happy to add anything from ala carte without additional charge
Cons: nothing!
Good location not very close to attractions - about a 10 minute walk. However, cab from anywhere is under 10 euro's Staff was very helpful

cozy and warm with a very friendly staff

Only negative was the shower. It was small and tended to flood. I would consider staying there again.

Devine little hotel close to the heart of Florence

Posted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: Personalized service, friendly and helpful staff, room very clean.
Location: Duomo is a 10 minute walk which is heart of all things Florence. Piazza Michealangelo a leisurely 30 minute stroll with outstanding city views.
Great little hotel only a short walk from many major attractions in Venice. Service is extremely personalized and all staff were most friendly and helpful. I would have no reservations booking with this hotel again.

No longer a five star hotel

Posted Oct 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
This was a huge disappointment--while the hotel is a nice, old hotel and the staff was more than courteous, our room was tiny, old, and ugly. There was no elevator to bring baggage to our third floor room, and the mirrored walls of the room were peeling. This was to be a comfortable space for the last day of our trip--a wind down before travel; we spent very little time in the room as it was too small for comfort--while there was a teenie sitting area, once we brought 3 suitcases into the room it was unusable. The room was clean and the staff lovely; otherwise, not such a great stay.

An Exceptional Small Hotel

Posted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: The service staff.
Location: The hotel is mercifully away from the maddening crowds of the central city. But it's only a 10 minute walk to the Duomo if you are craving noise.
This wonderful hotel is housed in the former British embassy (from the time that Florence was the capital of Italy in the 1860s) and it retains the elegance and charm from that period. Hotel stays include an elegant breakfast in the dining room that also serves superb meals at night. Service is exceptional.

very nice hotel

Pros: Lovely listed building.
Cons: nothing.
Location: Away from the crowds bit within walking distance of restaurants and sights. Buses also run nearby.
We stayed for five nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is away from the very crowded city centre but within walking distance of all the sights.

Quiet for relaxation and close to attractions.

Posted Oct 9, 2013
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Closer attention to wiping down some of the furniture between guests.
Location: Location is close to all the piazzas, museums, etc. but a taxi can be called if walking is out of the question.
We visited 17 years ago with my children and wanted to come back. It was just as lovely the second time around. The hotel has a gracious staff, well maintained rooms, and it is within walking distance to many areas in Florence. The restaurant has excellent food and will accomodate any needs you may have. Wish we could have stayed longer.
