“Great staff & beautiful terrace overlooking Arno!”
I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Silla. The staff was extremely friendly & helpful. Antonio at front reception got me dinner reservations one night, when I couldn't get one myself. The staff recommended good places to go & always had smiles on their faces. The beautiful terrace lined with fragrant jasmine, honeysuckle, rose trees and other flowers was lovely for breakfast and enjoying an evening glass of wine. The hotel was in walking distance to many restaurants & sites. It was nice not to be right in the throng of crowds by the Duomo, but only a mere 20- 25 min. walk away or a 5 - 10 min. bus ride away. It was only an 8 min. walk to the Ponte Vecchio bridge.
“Hotel with a view in a tranquil area of Florence”
Hotel Silla is a very comfortable hotel situated in a convenient location in a tranquil area of Florence (yes, there are such areas). Hotel staff at reception desk were very helpful. My room ( No. 30, a double) was on the upper floor and had a great view over the greenery of Piazza Demidoff to the river Arno and central Florence. The hotel is a short and easy walk to Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi, and all of the sights of the Centro Storico. With a location in the Oltarno, the surrounding neighborhood has many artisans and a local rather than a touristic orientation. It is a short uphill walk to Piazzale Michelangiolo and San Miniato al Monte. There are many excellent restaurants in the neighborhood.
“Great place to stay in Florence”
Hotel Silla was a great choice for a stay in Florence. It's across the river yet a very short walk to the historic districts in Florence. Hotel is very clean, well maintained, and the staff is very helpful with restaurant recommendations, travel tips, etc. The breakfast is high quality, but limited in scope.
“Wonderful Place To Stay”
My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Silla for a week recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff was so friendly, helpful, and welcoming. Upon check-in, a staff member walked us around the hotel pointing out the breakfast room, bar area, balcony, and took us to our room. During the week, they recommended restaurants and tours when we asked, and they booked our tours for us. We enjoyed the free breakfast each morning and loved sitting on the balcony with its wonderful view. The hotel was very clean and the location was excellent, being only a short walk from the Ponte Vecchio and very close the the Arno River, the Piazza Michelangelo, and many restaurants, cafes and shops. We would definitely stay here again if we're fortunate enough to return to Florence one day.
“Quaint & quiet hotel”
Hotel Silla offers a comfortable, moderately-priced local hotel with a pleasant breakfast patio experience. While small, the hotel's staff was attentive and helpful and assisted us in getting a last minute tour of Siena. The room had air conditioning and a newly remodeled bathroom. The only complaint was that the hair dryer was broken and the shower water spilled on to the floor outside the shower area if not careful.
“Close to Everything in Firenze”
Our room was quite comfortable and large for Italian hotels. The bathroom, including bidet, was also large. We faced away from the major street, so the view wasn't much, but it was quiet. Wifi was easily accessible and with a good signal. We were right across the river from the Ufizi and Duomo. The parking with the hotel was okay until we left and the one-way street was blocked, due to construction. Overall, an excellent hotel for our very quick stay in Firenze.
“Good Choice For Florence”
We stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Silla this August. Hotel was in nice condition. Staff treated us very well. We enjoyed the terrace with some local wine and appetizers and the staff were happy to provide glasses and silverware. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast service and choices were good as well.
“Great mid-range hotel”
The Hotel Silla is wonderful -- friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, amazing location with a view of the Arno and in walking distance to every tourist attraction in Florence, and GREAT breakfast (juices, toast, eggs, fruit, cereal, cold-cuts, croissants, buns, coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc). If I had to complain about a few things it would only be minor things about the room; the stone floors are a little cold if traveling in winter like we were (but probably great in summer) and the bed wasn't that comfortable, and the walls are pretty thin. BUT none of these things was a big deal, or would keep me for staying there again. We were really really pleased with the Hotel Silla!
“A very good choice while staying in Florence”
In addition to the overall good condition and cleanliness of the room the staff was very friendly, courtious, and extremely helpful in recommending restaurants, several of which were just several minutes away.
