Old world charm

Posted Aug 21, 2014
The hotel is located on one of the most beautiful streets in Florence, wide, clean and beautiful buildings surrounding it. The mozzarella bar across the street is a great restaurant, lovely ambience. The hotel is old with quirky hallways and paths to your room. In spots it is a bit worn and that is why I didn't give the hotel a perfect 5. Otherwise, it was lovely in all ways. The rooftop patio is wonderful for coffee or afternoon drinks.

Great location, disappointing hotel

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms need a total overhaul. It looks like they are just letting them run down.
Location: Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
There were two positive things about this hotel: location and staff. Other than that I will say that we were disappointed with the hotel. The breakfast was awful- bruised fruit at the buffet and limited selection. It just got to the point that we refused to have the buffet breakfast and just purchased breakfast somewhere else. The rooms needed major renovations. The furniture was all damaged and really old. Bathrooms were so dingy I hated taking a shower. One bed mattress was so old that when I sat on the side of the bed I simply fell off as the side was totally sunken in. The hotel staff was pleasing but that will take you only so far. So overall, I will say that if you like to stay in luxury hotels (4 or 5 star) this is not the place for you.

Great location, roof top bar

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Rooftop bar. Size of the room Buffet breakfast.
Cons: The reception area and ground floor toilet
Location: Everything is in walking distance San Spirito restuarant great food Take the hop on hop off bus tour 48hours go 1300 then u get the use of 3 days
This hotel has a great location, close to everything. You have to go to the rooftop bar, wonderful views of Frorence from there. The station is not far if u can wheel your case through the crowds. The gentleman at reception booked the italian opera for us which was brilliant.

Hotel central and clean!

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: CLEAN!
Location: Close to everything, even the train station.
Our family of four had a great experience. We were able to all be in one room which was one of the cleanest rooms I've ever been, (I have stayed at many 5 star hotels). Breakfast was very reasonable and enough.

Lovely Hotel in the perfect position.

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: A hotel of real character, the staff are lovely and will do anything for you. Everything was perfect and a real delight.
Cons: Just keep doing what you do best. Nothing to change, except maybe a better shower head in the first room.
Location: The best possible location in the Fashion quarter near the river. Perfect for everything and easy to walk everywhere but take good shoes.
We stayed here for a 5 day Honeymoon and I can't think of a better City. My 6th time in 45 years in Florence and it always hits the spot and throws a surprise - it is now almost traffic free and very calm. A hotel of real character, the staff are lovely and will do anything for you. The first 3 days we spent on the 5th floor overlooking the terracotta roofs. A good size with decent en-suite, nicely styled Italian shabby chic but probably the cheapest available. Then 2 days in an upgraded room at no charge - this room was huge and probably a Superior. Beautifully furnished with 6ft bed, lovely views of the gorgeous roof terrace and tiles where the sun sets. Breakfast top class with huge variety in a beautiful room.

Funky hotel near all the tourist sites

Posted Jul 30, 2014
Pros: Large room, decent breakfast
Cons: AC needs to be improved.
Location: major tourist sites are within a 10 min walk. Plenty of restaurants and places to shop within a short walk. About a 10 euro cab ride from train sta.
Decent place near all of the major tourist attractions. Elevator only goes to the 4th floor. We were on the 5th floor. If you have mobility issues, this may not be the place for you. Complimentary breakfast was nice. The room was pretty large. Those are the positive attributes of the place. The one negative is that the AC was pretty bad. Since we were visiting in July (one of the hottest months), the poor AC made it a little difficult to sleep.

Nice hotel in Old Florence

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Location is perfect for exploring the Old Town and window shopping.
Cons: Larger lobby - but this is not practical given the location!
Location: Excellent location. Right in the Old Town, on a very exclusive street, full of designer shops.
Quick check-in and no issues during stay at all. Nice breakfast. Safe key provided. Luggage storage on final day.
