Not a 4 star hotelPosted Jul 2, 2015
I was terribly disappointed when arriving to our room! Granted the hotel is on the Main Street where all of the high end stores are, reminded me of 5th ave in NYC, but the hotel didn't belong on that street...maybe 80 years ago! The outdated lobby, the rude host and hostess, the drab damp room, with hard mattress and pillows, the yellow/brown water coming out of the faucet, the sad excuse for breakfast, no services. I have pictures if you want to see them! Expedia please check out these hotels befor you recommend them.

A Classy Dignified Historic HotelPosted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: The location and feel.
Location: It is in the middle of the historic district and close to everything. There are NO safety issues.
Since 1958 I have stayed at the Beacci. Two years later my husband and I spent our wedding trip here. We have been a visitor here every time we have been in Florence. It's old and has it's quirks but I love it. It's in a 16th century building. It has been modernized and renovated. It is a charming place to stay. It has a lovely roof garden. Breakfast used to be served here but since the hotel has been expanded breakfast is served in a large and attractive breakfast room. I miss breakfast on the roof but expansion required this change. The roof is still open for light meals and drinks. If you are looking for a super modern generic hotel go to another place. If you want charm in the center of the historic district of Florence stay at the Beacci.

Nice Hotel - watch what room you getPosted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: The hotel itself is quite nice and close to everything. We enjoyed our stay. (except for our room) The rooftop was a great place to have a drink.
Cons: Being told upon check in about this room - it should be a heavily discounted room having to put up with the noise.
Location: Close to everything .
The Hotel was lovely. Our room not so good. Even though I had requested a high floor room we got one on the 1st floor which was directly below the large breakfast room, which is also used as a conference room. It was extremely noisy with scraping chairs constantly the first day & night (till midnight) because of a conference , and there after every morning for breakfast from 6.15am - so no sleep ins ! They did offer to move us, but never did anything about it even though we kept asking. We should have been told about the breakfast room right above this room when they checked us in, it was our 10 yr anniversary , and it was not very romantic.

Pros: Great location and beautiful setting.
The quietest stay during our 5 stops in Italy. Most comfortable bed. We had a suite with our 2 kids. The room was large, beautiful, and well decorated. Bathroom had the shower/sink separated from the water closet which helped in getting ready in the morning. A lovely European breakfast in the morning. I would highly recommend this hotel!
