“VDB is unpretentious & comfortable”

A couple of miles outside of Fiesole, VBD is simple, clean and refresing. It offers easy access to Florence and lovely walking in the hills. It is a great buy and a place for a return visit.

“Comfortable, peaceful haven”

This hotel is ideal if you want easy access for exploring Florence, but also need a a peaceful and pleasant haven for quiet relaxation. Its magnificent location, gives wonderful views of the hills and over Florence. We found no problems with cleanliness. In our experience, bites are more likely to be from flying insects than bedbugs, as you are in the countryside - but these weren't a major problem.

“A great place to stay”

We stayed at the beinning of the Easter holidays. Hotel is set outside Fiesole; a lovely large village. There are great views over Florence from the hotel. The receptionist and staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a shame the pool was not open due to being April.

“Florence and Fiesole are around the corner, but you are in a beautiful garden!”

The new hotel is located in a beautiful Tuscan garden, about 20 minutes walk from the city centre of Fiesole. You have everything - beautiful view, swiming pool, nice restaurants in Fiesole. The culture and history already in this small town are everywhere, and Florence is only 20 minutes by bus.

“Dirt under the bed and bug bites.”

The dirt under the bed looked like it was not cleaned for a very long time. Two travellers in separate rooms complained of bites after we left.

“Nice area and location but dirty”

We were disapointed with this hotel. The location is wonderful in the hills outside of Florence. This would be a beautiful place to stay in the summer, especially to relax. Fiesole is a great town and Florence is very close, especially if you are traveling with a vehicle. The staff was nice and helpful. Our disapointment started with the room and cleanliness. When we first arrived there was a dirty towel still in our bathroom. The minibar/fridge was very dirty, almost moldy. Also, the breakfast could have used a little more variety. This was also the only hotel (of 6) that charged us a fee for an infant bed.

“Great pool”

Lovely simple hotel, with great pool and sunbathing areas. Quiet and peaceful with stunning scenary. Really enjoyed it. The biggest issue is that the buses to the hotel are only once an hour from Fiesole and stop by 6pm. You need a car for this hotel. Walking from the hotel to Fiesole on the roads is dangerous during the day and potentially fatal at night.
