I stayed with my husband and two children aged 3 and 7 for one night. After staying in two other very traditional styled properties on our 9 day Tuscan holiday, it was wonderful to come to this clean and modern hotel. Our sat nav directed us straight to the hotel, which was only a 10 minute drive from the centre of Florence. The underground parking has CCTV and we were more than happy to pay 15 Euros to park there. We were thrilled to be so close to the centre of Florence, but feel like we were in the hills of Tuscany. The pool is picturesque and great for cooling off in. The food at dinner was great. The breakfast is underwhelming, but it does the job. Having eaten so much the night before in the restaurant, a bowl of cereal was just fine! It feels secluded and exclusive due to the fact there are only 12 suites all of which are nestled into the rock. The staff are lovely, and clearly enjoy working there. If you want the Four Seasons - go there. If you want a quirky retreat, a short drive from the town centre, with warm hospitality - this is it.

"B&B at a beautiful quiet neighborhood in Florence"
We had arrived in Florence (our last stop) in our 10-day trip through Italy. Despite knowing the city well from ten years back we were ready for some change in the scenario so we decided to go with the recommendation of a friend and that's when we stayed at Residenza Casanuova. Its located at a quiet but bustling neighborhood not so far away from the city's main attraction where everything in walking distance. I'm usually the budget conscious person in my group but also a lover of history. The establishment is family owned and there is rich paintings around the wall to signify its heritage. One big recommendation for future visitors; you have got to check out the flee market just a couple of blocks away. I'm definitely a brand consumer and the stuff they have their is out of this world for very economic prices!! Enjoy your stay.

My stay at the Hotel dei Vicari was a very special experience. The hotel is immaculately clean and the cappucinos made with care were perfect every time. Although the hotel is in Scarperia about 20 minutes out of Florence it is easily accessible off the Autostrada and it is nice to get out of the craziness of Florence. It also makes it easier to explore the Toscana country side. The hotel has all the amenities you could need and is a modern hotel. Everyone working at the hotel were very kind and helpful and our stay there felt like a home away from home. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel you made our stay in Toscana truely memorable and we can't wait to come back and visit all of you.I highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Tuscany especially if you enjoy having modern comforts during your travels through Italy.

A comfortable, simple hotel in Leonardo's town of birth. Not very exiting position, but quiet and clean. A better than average breakfast buffet and staff referred us to an excellent local restaurant ( Museo).

The hotel is situated in a wonderful country location approximately 5km from the town of Castelfiorentino. Both peaceful and tranquil if you want to relax and chill out with a swimming pool and tennis court. Walking around the garden at the end of the day is a lovely experience amongst Olive and Fig trees as well as the sweet scent of roses permeating the cooler evening air after often very warm days.
Susanna is an excellent hostess and can offer great advice about any trip you want to make including best way to travel, train times, and if travelling by car suggests places of interest on route to or from your planned destination.
An evening meal is planned and the menu displayed at breakfast so you have the choice to eat at the hotel or make other arrangements. The dining room is very comfortable with both table spacing and ambience whilst Guiliano as waiter is always on hand and charming.
Occasionally items in the room were not replaced by the chambermaid i.e. drinks in the fridge & coffee/tea but overall the room was clean & tidy.
To conclude the hotel is perfect as a location for visiting Florence, Sienna, Volterra, San Giminiagno, Monterigioni and others as well as exploring the beautiful countryside.
We had a fantastic week - highly recommended!

We had a very relaxing week here. Sabrina was the nicest host that you could possibly get, always there to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The room was big enough for all 5 of us. The swimming pool had the best views of the countryside. And the breakfast's were delicious.
You must eat at their restaurant while you are there, the food is amazing.

"Lovely boutique hotel - couples/friends/families."
While travelling around Europe for 2 weeks with a friend of mine, staying at 7 hotels in all, I found that this hotel most definitely gave the greatest value for money, the staff provided very helpful and friendly service, and to add to our fantastic experience here, we discovered that each room had beautiful, individually decorated rooms. Our room had one double bed, and two single beds on a mezzanine level - perfect for us, or for a family of four! The hotel is within 10 minutes' walk of the Uffizi Museum, Ponte Vecchio, Accademia Gallery (with Michaelangelo's 'David' and 'the Slaves') and Brunellesci's Dome at Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral - perfect for our needs. The only downside was the quality of coffee at breakfast, and I think the hotel would do well to invest in a decent coffee machine! However, coffee can be found in all the cafes situated nearby, and I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
