Comfortable hotel with a decent sized pool.

Posted Aug 6, 2014
The rooms were plenty big enough with two good sized twin beds that were really comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space with additional drawers, a nice sized bathroom with a bath and powerful shower, a small tv and a fridge. The view wasn't special but we went into Florence itself to see the real views! The pool was lovely, it was a good size and very deep at one end. We always found 4 sun beds to use and we didn't have to get there early to find them! The buffet breakfast was varied and was available until 10 so very relaxed. The staff were friendly and the receptionist was really very helpful.

Ordinary, acceptable

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: Good breakfast.
Cons: Did not like the electronic insect repellent device, plugged into the wall when we arrived. Bottle said "Dangerous to children." Had it taken away.
Location: 15-minute public bus ride into the city center, where the cultural attractions and shops are. Organic food store and some pleasant, local restaurants
Staff helpful, mostly, but not attentive. WIFI COMPLETELY INADEQUATE. Wifi was spotty and intermittent, and insufficient for a hotel with so many guests. Pool is clean and inviting.

Good hotel near Florence if you have a car.

Posted Jul 30, 2014
The hotel staff were great- very sweet. Free parking was a plus, but if you want the car in the locked garage its an extra 10 euro/day (they did not make this clear when I booked thru Expedia). The hotel location was great- right outside the bus stop (about a 15-20 min ride into Florence city center). The room was clean and the circular bed was a nice change (and comfortable). The only problem was that the room was SO dark. The one shade that covered the floor to ceiling window was broken and would not roll up to let in sunlight, and there was not enough overhead lighting in the room itself. The pool area was nice as well, altho we did not go in.

Free parking and bus line only reason to stay

Posted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Parking and bus line convenience
Cons: It's just a tired old Holiday Inn.
Location: Feng Sushi Wok across the street has a really excellent buffet for E 20 which is a pretty good price for Florence.
Checked in and was assigned room that was not ready. Waited for it to be cleaned. Table in the room was on the verge of collapse -- couldn't use it. No glasses in room. Request to front desk was greeted with "we are finished for the day and you can go to the restaurant to get a glass". Next two days -- no glasses placed in room. Room key card failed to work initially. Got a new one. Next day it wouldn't work. Got a new one, mentioning that I was staying for two nights. No matter -- had to get a new one each day. I went down at 3 PM to pay my bill as I was leaving the next morning at 5 AM and was told by man (maybe the manager) that I would have to come back that night to pay my bill. Meanwhile, they had put a mini-bar charge on my bill that wasn't mine. Outside, the hotel needs a coat of paint and the door mat at the front entry is absolutely gross. But outside parking (not secured) is free and the bus across the street will take you to heart of the city in 25 minutes.

A great hotel as a base for seeing Florence.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Room size was good. The room was clean and well appointed. It was near public transit. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: Staff could be a little more knowledgeable about other restaurants near by, including if they are open or closed.
Location: There was some shopping near by, and a few restaurants. Since public transit was right outside the door, one could go anywhere quite easily.
This was a great hotel, well priced for staying in Florence. It was well situated near public transit so that one's own vehicle was not needed to see the inner city of Florence. The staff was very helpful in terms of telling which bus to use to come and go. There was a nice pool for guest use. The pool area was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was included in our price. It was a good, hot breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

Around Florence train station

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: Close to train and not to far walk from the harbour
Cons: if you stay more than 3 nights you do not get daily room service
Location: No where to eat unless you want a kebab or pizza. count over 10 on one block.
Self service apartment with every thing you need including laundry, There is a supermarket round corner sells everything you need including wine. The suburb around though is a very poor area and make sure you are with someone at night, I wouldn't walk around alone especially a woman as full of men standing around and lots of homeless people.

Reasonable hotel

Posted May 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
Grossly over priced restaurant. Low quality food. Restaurant has nice decor however. Not much to do in the vicinity of the hotel. No restaurants to shout about. Pool doesn't open until June 1st. Friendly helpful staff. Room was clean. Nice views of the mountains from the room window. 10 min taxi ride to town where all the action is. Make sure you go to Piazzale Michelangelo for the views....!

Not at all great

Posted May 15, 2014 on Hotels.com
Just a middle of the road hotel. We only had one bath towel and we couldn't call down to the front desk or housekeeping because the phone didn't have labels on any of the buttons. Also, neither of the attendants at the front desk were sure about directing me to an ATM close by. They knew of one about 1 mile away. I found one on my own within 200' of the front door of the hotel.
