“The location is fantastic, but the people who own this lovely B&B are the best!”
I spent 10 nights at La Signoria di Firenze in October in a single room. The brother and sister team who own the B&B are so genuine, sincere, helpful, warm--there aren't enough nice things to say about them; all I had to do was express a concern or a problem, such as not being able to withdraw money at an ATM over a weekend, and they gave useful advice. They serve a nice breakfast every morning, including but not limited to fresh-baked croissants, cereal, juice and milk, and I had a daily cappuccino (often 2). Plus the location is wonderful-walking distances: 1 minute from the Piazza de la Signoria, 3 minutes from the Uffizi, less than 10 minutes from the meeting place for wine tours, the Duomo, Santa Croce and so many other places. If you get your bearings, walking from the train station even with baggage is less than a 1/2 hour. I asked for a restaurant recommendation and was rewarded with the best meals I had had in Italy over 3 1/2 weeks (from gourmet meals to panini) and they offered to and made the reservations for me. My hosts spoke English but were kind enough to let me practice my beginner's Italian without flinching. There is a small grocery store next door, where I bought fruit for snacking during the day. I plan to return and hope they will host me again.
“Will return!”
Location, location, location. It is right downtown near all the sites Excellent value and very clean. The staff was supportive to my requests and questions.
“Great location and friendly staff”
Friendly staff with excellent recommendations on nearby restaurants. I've lived in Florence for years at a time and did not know some of the fine (and affordable) places they suggested. Highly recommended.
“Great stay”
Nice room, friendly service, great location
“Great little hotel”
The hotel is in easy walking distance from the Rialto Bridge, but you better have good directions. It's located on a tiny side street. We had reserved a triple room, and it was larger than I had expected for Europe. A few of the rooms in the hotel share a bath, but most have a private bath. Be sure to specify. The breakfast was simple, but very nice.
