good location, breakfast was okay

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: internet
Cons: breakfast could have been better
Location: David, Cathedral and Michalengelo churchs were in walking distance
Location was good, although far from the central station. Take a bus to San Marco square and it is a block away from there. Walking distance from David and other attaraction. Breakfast could have been better. Boiled eggs, bread, croissant, little ham, cheese and that is all. Don't expect any sussage or fancy breakfast.

Wonderful hotel inside a 16th century building

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Historical building, amazing room, four poster bed, shower gel, friendly and english speaking staff
Cons: A bit far from the train station if you decide to walk
Location: Tourist attracting and lots of restaurants
This hotel is the best part of our trip in Florence. It is located inside a 16th century building and you can feel it the moment you walk into the hotel. The room is decorated accordingly and with the four poster bed, you will feel like you are travelling back in time. Great view outside the window for the plaza and the breakfast is delicious. The shower gel the hotel offered is the best I have ever experienced from a hotel. It feels really refreshing and feels like something you would get in a good spa or yoga place. The only thing that I can pick out is that it's a bit far from the train station if you decide to walk (about 15 minutes walk), the wireless internet is a bit hard to connect (maybe depends on your room), and there are movies playing outside your window in the plaza in the evening to about 11pm.

Like living through the Renaissance

Posted Aug 1, 2014
The hotel is located on a small square very close to the university, and could be missed if you weren't looking for building #5. Reception staff were exceptionally friendly and very accommodating (we had to check out at 5:45am for a flight, and they sorted passport return and taxi bookings without difficulty). The building has been kept authentic, and makes you feel like it is still 1490, yet has enough modern comforts (aircon, minibar, wifi etc.). Even deoration in the hallways and stairwells has been thoughtfully done. Florence itself is an exceptional city, but be aware of two things: 1) Do not consider driving your own car into the ZTL (inner zone) during daytime hours. You can get a 2hr exemption, but if your registration plate is not provided to the police or you miss the 2hr window, big fines can arise. Search the web for advice on driving/parking in Florence for advice from locals 2) Queues to both buy tickets and enter the Ufizi, Galleria dell'Accademia (David statue) and cathedral are enormous. Some days they open late and some days they are fully closed (Monday?) 3) As with all worldwide tourist attractions, bars and restuarants in popular areas charge a premium. Check before you order if you want to avoid a 16EUR beer

Charming Hotel in the Heart of Florence

Posted Jul 24, 2014
Pros: Loggiato dei Serviti is notable for its interior and exterior architecture, its fine location, and its excellent staff.
Cons: There is little to be improved about this hotel. Perhaps my wardrobe was a trifle battered and required a some remedial carpentry.
Location: The hotel is centrally-located but a little to the north; thus the area is more like 'true' Florence rather than the touristic centre.
Loggiato dei Serviti is a lovely hotel. It is housed in a building of some antiquity. However it has been converted in a historically-sympathetic way, and is very comfortable for the modern visitor. My room - a large single with wooden floors and a 'letto francese' - provided a delightful view over Piazza della Santissima Annunziata. That square is somewhat anarchic in character; at the moment it entertains many students, a maxi-schermo and some rather interesting characters, as well as building works on the Museo degli Innocenti, so a little clamour throughout the day is to be expected. Returning to my room, I would note that the air-conditioning was efficient and relatively quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom clean and well-stocked with rather nice olive-oil toiletries. The limited space meant that my shower was of the wet-room type, which might not be to everyone's taste, but it worked well and was cleaned to the highest standard each day. Perhaps the gem of the hotel is its staff; both day and night teams work hard and were extremely friendly both to me and all the other guests. They were even prepared to tolerate my attempts at Italian, which speaks highly for their patience. In terms of services, the breakfast selection provides everything one might expect of an Italian hotel; the quality of the fruit salad and the coffee on offer is particularly notable. A wide range of Italian newspapers is also on offer alongside the International Herald Tribune.

Great location in Florence

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Staff were friendly and very helpful Great location
Cons: Internet was fre but at times slow
Location: Great location within 15-20 slow walk to most attraction and bus-train station Some buses could be taken within 1minute walk from the hotel
Spent 19 wonderful days. Great staff, they go out of their way to help you booking tours, restaurants, taxis and for any other matters like ridding buses, trains. They always have a big smile, Great breakfast. Daniel even came in earlier to prepare a meal prior to our earlier toscany tours

Beautiful hotel in the heart of Florence.

Pros: Very charming decor. Great location. Magnificent view from our room.
Cons: I have no suggestions.
Location: Just minutes from the Academia and the Duomo.
The hotel staff was very helpful. They made reservations for the Academia and made great suggestions for restaurants. The hotel decor helped us experience the charm and beauty of Italy.
