OK if you are only looking for cheap place to stay for a night or two. No phone, no TV, no one on front desk. Owner lady speaks no English. Would never stay here again.

Good stayPosted Dec 21, 2013
Good experience for the low price and just a short walk to the main city of Florence. Good wifi, clean rooms and toilets.

THE BEDS were horrible, not near ANYTHINGPosted Mar 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
The lady who owns or runs the hotel is the sweetest ever. There is literally NOTHING near there to even get a coffee or a bottle of water. NOTHING. And you can't get a coffee, water or soda from the owners. NO BREAKFAST OPTION. No parking available. 20 Euros a day extra. They are extremely clean though.

Modest Accommodation for Expensive FlorencePosted May 14, 2012
Pros: It was good value for an otherwise expensive city.
Cons: Shared bathrooms (they are advertised as such) and the wifi signal is weak.
Location: It's located in a quiet neighbourhood area about 10 minutes walk from the famous Il Duomo.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Losanna Hotel for a few days during a ten day trip in Italy and that it was good accommodation for the price. The hotel is a bit of a walk from the train station (about 20-25 minutes) but is a bit closer to the main attractions in Florence - especially the Il Duomo cathedral. As advertised, the bathrooms are shared (there are two toilet / shower combination rooms) but they are clean. There's a little courtyard and a breakfast dining area, and the staff were happy to help out with questions, or offer us a bottle opener for our wine. The only negatives were that the wifi only seemed to work in a few spots (not in our room), and due to it being more of a converted apartment, there was a bit of noise at night sometimes. Overall, I would still definitely recommend this place for its value in an otherwise expensive city.

Not worth the moneyPosted Sep 19, 2011
A bit expensive for the quality of the room and the pension itself (this is not a hotel!!). The corridors felt like we were in the hospital and we could hear all the noise from the other rooms and even from the toilets!... There was a weird smell all over the place. Our bathroom didn't have a shower tray, only a drain and a curtain. The room has a kind of stone floor and there were no rugs. And no mirror! The wi-fi signal was very low and didn't work in the room. Only in a wi-hi spot in the corridor. The location is alright and almost everything in walking distance. The staff is friendly though, willing to give some tips and trying to help (their english wasn't very good). Wouldn't recommend.

Good Pension and ReceptionPosted Aug 25, 2010
This establishment is more a pension than a real hotel but we really appreciated the service and its location. We have been very well welcomed by the receptionist.

A decent guesthousePosted May 12, 2010
Losanna is an inexpensive (in comparison to other Florence hotels) guesthouse. The rooms are clean and comfortable, however not refurnished for a long time apparently. No bathrooms in rooms, but that is not a problem as the rooms - bathrooms ratio is quite high. Dedicated for budget travellers.
