An OK stayPosted Sep 11, 2013
The room was spacious, although the bathroom was not quite what we expected. The shower is open and they have drains on the bathroom floor. Room was clean and had air conditioning. The owners told us that they take credit card but preferred being paid in cash. The smell of the owners was quite overpowering as it smelled like they hadn't showered in days. Thank god our room did not smell that way, or it may have been unbearable. Other than that there were no complaints. We did not stay for breakfast. It's in a good location, right near the train station. Wifi worked well.

Good enoughPosted Aug 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overall it was a pleasant stay. Bath towels were far too small. Everything as expected for this price range in Europe.

Clean, Central, Comfortable!Posted Jul 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is lovely and clean and the owners were lovely and helpful - able to give us advice on where to go (and the nearest shops etc). There was air con and a fridge - very important in the July heat! I would say that it is important you know that the rooms are up two flights of stairs. Definitely stay again!

Great place for the pricePosted May 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was a good place, especially for the price. The location is super convenient right next to the train station. Mary is very nice and the rooms are very clean. It's not super new, but it's a good value for the price.

My Stay at Mary's HousePosted May 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
The place is very close to the train station. 33 min walk. Also very closer to all attractions. 5 min walk. I stayed there on May 11 for two nights. It was avert convenient place to stay and vey clean. My room was huge. You will be grated by a very helpful older woman and her son. They are the owners of the place and also her very sweet and helpful husband. There is no breakfast but it was not a big deal because there are tuns of inexpensive place around to eat. The only thing is that at night you can not open the windows from the extreme noise so I asked for the AC at night to get some air in the room but they said they only open the AC in the hot months July and August. So the next day I tools them i could not sleep with no air in the room so the the very nice man opened the AC for us. Also they give you the keys to the building so you are free to come and go ant anytime. A very pleasant stay. Would stay there again.

Good Hotel!Posted May 12, 2013
Great location next to the train station. 5 minutes walk to the center. Helpful staff. The only minus was there wasnt any elevator. There are many good restaurants near the hotel!

great location and friendly ownersPosted Oct 13, 2012 on Hotels.com
This is a great little spot if you're looking for a friendly place to stay while you tour the city. It is located within short walking distance of the train station and absolutely everything else you'll want to see while in Florence. The clean room is large with a great private bathroom. Mrs. Noto and her son are very helpful. They corresponded with me by email several times to answer my questions and even made it possible for us to stay an extra night.

Very nice hotelPosted Jul 10, 2012
Pros: Friendly owners
Cons: Rooms facing the street are a little noisy
Location: Close to rail station and Tourist Office
As long as you are not expecting the Ritz-Carlton, you should be happy with this hotel. It is a short walk from the SMN train station and is near the Tourist Office (hint: buy the Florence Card -- it is a great deal and essentially is a VIP pass into nearly all of the museums; no need to pre-book visits and no waiting in lines). Mary and her son Antonio were very helpful and accommodating, providing tips on what to visit in Florence, providing a fan for the room (because the air conditioning unit was not too effective), and holding our bags until we left on the evening train. The room we had was clean and spacious, towels were changed daily, and beds made up daily as well. The only drawbacks (in addition to the air conditioning unit) were that the room we had faced the street and so it was a little noisy at nights, and there is an 'open' shower so much of the bathroom floor gets wet when showering. Nonetheless, this is a nice hotel and reasonably priced. I would stay here when visiting Florence again.
