“Good and very comfortable hotel in the Barberino/Mugello area”

It was off-season for the hotel, so prices were very low There was a restaurante in front, just doesn't open mondays Continental Breakfast was well served Hotel facilities, including gym, were good Nicely sized double room, big bathroom. Might be a very nice place in the summer, as is already at a mountain area Staff was very helpful, internet was free in the room.

“Hope to go back!”

We stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks for our summer vacation. It was a great hotel. The only thing missing was a pool, but if you're looking for a place that is quiet and away from the city then this hotel is for you. If we go back to Tuscany, we will probably stay here again.

“Excellent Hotel For Money”

Very clean and modern rooms with balcony overlookiing hills.Staff very friendly.Very good restaurant over the road. Cannot fault this hotel for the money but you would need to be in a car as there is nothing around.

I definitely must start this off by saying I was a little skeptical at first but was pleasantly surprised in the end. The idea of a 4 star hotel for prices rivaling that of a 2 or 3 star seemed a bit sketchy but really, this hotel deserves the 4 star rating. Anyways, the hotel itself is not very easy to find as we found out driving around almost 2 hours before asking for directions from the local gas station. So to any future travelers, I urge you to print out directions before you go either with yahoo maps or mapquest. You'll be frustrated (like us) if you don't. But, once we arrived we had the most amazing stay in a wonderful setting. Our room was excellent, with a balcony overlooking the hillside and we were even awoken by roosters which some may find annoying but we found it funny, reminding us of the farms back here in New England. The Bed was very comfortable, there was plenty of storage for our things (including a fully lockable safe for for laptops and money not needed) and the all tile bathroom was large, modern, clean and very well designed. Sure, the TV was small and there were few English speaking channels but it's Italy, why would you want to sit in front of the TV? The breakfast was decent, usual stuff but a nice spread and the cappucinos were great. The staff was pleasant for the most part except for one gentleman who seemed to be a little cold to us for not speaking the language very well... All in all a great stay and would definitely stay there again.

“Great Florence area alternative”

We stayed four nights and enjoyed the first class accommodations and breakfasts, and the rock bottom Expedia price. This was easily the nicest and least expensive of the 4 star hotels we stayed at while in Italy. The location requires a willingness to drive a bit further than most alternatives, but the hotel and the nice restaurants in the neighborhood make it worthwhile.

“Great Choice!”

We stayed for eight nights and loved it! Rooms are clean well kept, bath first class for an Italy hotel. located in the hills with great country side views. Breakfast is included and and realy well done! Hotel is only a couple years old and we would stay here again. 9/2007 TRUELY FOUR STAR BY ITALY STANDARDS!

“My Favourite Place!”

We stayed four nights at the Meridiana Country hotel. It is located about 15 miles outside of Florence but we couldn't have asked for a better place! The room was very comfortable with a little patio with a table. The staff looked after us very well. Breakfast was great. The dining room and lounge overlook the Tuscan Hills. Florence is easily accessible by driving to the train station in nearby Prato (free parking at the station - get there early). Cost is minimal and takes about 20 minutes to Santa Maria Novelli train station. The hotel can also arrange transportation to Prato. Nearby are medievel towns (Scarperia, Piero a Sieve, etc) with museums and lots of things to see. The food is fantastic! Try the pizzeria on the main street in Piero a Sieve! Scarperia is famous for its beautiful handcrafted knives. The hotel was also perfect for a day drive to Lucca, Pisa and The Cinque Terre. Upon our return, the hotel was happy to book a massage for its travel-weary customers. We had dinner twice at the restaurant across the road from the hotel. Both times we had an exceptional meal and the cost a fraction of what you would pay in Toronto. At the end of our stay, we hated to leave.

“very nice hotel and extremely clean”

This hotel is very clean and the amenities are very nice in the room. The rooms have all been remodeled recently, without losing the "Italian villa" feel. We had to leave at 5am for our flight, and the staff still made us cappuccinos to have beforehand and let us check in early. The only problem was that the hotel was about 15 minutes from the train station, and there wasn't much parking there but they do have shuttles except they don't run that late. I would definitely go back!
