Best Italian hotel for the buck.

Posted Nov 10, 2014
This is not your average 100 sq. ft. european room. Our room was spacious and warm, with a brick vaulted ceiling and large windows that opened onto the courtyard. The bed was kingsize with deluxe bedding, very comfortable. The room was decorated with antique furniture that gave it a very upscale feel. The best part was the bathroom, quite grand by eruo standards, it included a jetted tub, toilet and bidet, and heated towel bar. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our waiter and now friend, Emilio was a nice as they get.

location

even though a little out of town it was fabulous we visited a few hotels in the city and the milano by far the best the only downside was taxi fares were expensive but once we found out about the no 23b bus which goes from city to the village 10 mins down the hill it wasnt a problem and the temperature on the week we were there reached 28 degrees i even had a dip in one of the pools in the hotel would def go back but would ditch jumpers and jeans for t shirts and shorts

Beautifully restored and adapted old mill

Posted Nov 5, 2014
Pros: Beautiful decor, and a very high standard of comfort, cleanliness and service. Also nice and quiet out of the city centre and next to the River Arno
Cons: Nothing
Location: Set right on the R Arno, there were beautiful views.
We found the hotel really excellent. All staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was extremely comfortable, and the whole hotel was beautiful and characterful. The breakfast was amazing, and the dinners were reasonably priced and delicious. The shuttle ran efficiently into the city, making it convenient to stay in this lovely spot by the river.

Superb Hotel and Location

Posted Oct 28, 2014
We absolutely loved this hotel! The photos don't do it justice as it's immaculate throughout and renovated in a really elegant and stylish manner. It's situated about 20 mins outside the centre (so about 15-20 Euros in a taxi) but the benefit of this is that it's wonderfully peaceful and quiet. The hotel overlooks the River Arno, next to a weir - so the pool/patio area is a really delightful and relaxing place to unwind after a day in the city. The breakfast is delicious and all the staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. Overall, this is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in and would highly recommend.

Fantastic Hotel in Florence

Posted Oct 25, 2014
Pros: Everything - the location, the facilities, the food, the staff, the service - all great.
Cons: Nothing that we can think of, although we did see one or two diners having alternatives not mentioned on the menu. Maybe special orders, though.
Location: The location is about 15-20 minutes by taxi/shuttle bus to the station. Perfect for peace and a lovely setting, right next to the Arno.
We booked the hotel quite late & knew that it was a little out of the way, but close to the city and that was what we had wanted; peace and quiet, rather than the bustle of a central stay. This hotel is one of the best we have ever stayed in. A converted mill, it has so much character and the conversion has been done to a superb standard, with beautiful furnishings and antiques everywhere. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, there are nooks and spaces to relax after an excellent meal and although we were not in the season to be sitting outdoors, the space and facilities in the hotel grounds to do so made us wish that we could. We did however have a great view of the River Arno from our hotel windows. It has to be said that the staff here are excellent. We met another couple who remarked on how good every member of staff had been, when they had found themselves without luggage and the gentleman remarked that whoever trains the staff has it down to a tee. Every one of them was pleasant and helpful. The young lady on reception made sure a problem with a tour we had booked was sorted out, even though we had not felt we needed to complain, but she had realised we had not been picked up as we had expected. She was adamant that we should not be out of pocket and saw to it that we were not. The distance from the hotel to Florence is well worth staying a little further out of the city. The shuttle bus runs efficiently and is a great bonus. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

I love love this hotel. It is not your typical hotel. The hotel has a lot of personal touch to it. Room is very cozy, breakfast is excellent, staffs are outstanding! Its away from the city but theres a complimentary shuttle that takes you to the city throughout the day. Highly highly recommend it!!

Up the River , on the water, easy Florence access.

Stayed for 9 days as our "base" from which to revisit Florence and explore Tuscany and Chianti. Incredibly restored mill complex, faithful to Tuscan roots. Complimentary garage, as well as van service (on schedule, reserve your spots night before. Our 3rd time to Tuscany, best place we have been!
