A creditable hotel but in the wrong placePosted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Excellent cleanliness, great range of food at breakfast apart from our last day
Cons: For some reason on our last day , the breakfast room was packed and there was a lack of staff to cater for them leaving a shortage of food/cutlery.
Location: The location is the only real downside, situated a long way away from tourist attractions and having to walk through gloomy streets to get to them .
Main tourist attractions are so busy and queues ,even the fast lane ones are massive, we could not be bothered. Restaurants generally are very expensive for just the basic menu and staff lack the traditional Italian flair, which we have experienced in many other Italian cities. City hop on hop off bus tours are very good as they cover three routes for the price of one ticket. The Piazza,s could do with some livening up Bus trip was Cinque Terra was poor, two hour journey to get to the first village with nothing really to see and then coming home in the rush hour. We really enjoyed the bike tour to the vine yard even though the temperatures reached 35 degrees, big challenge up three hills, not for the faint hearted in that heat. Sienna is a must and a climb up the tower for a breath taking view of what seemed to be the whole of Italy . Hotel not for families, students or elderly.

Pros: our room was big ,clean and comfortable and breakfast was good
Location: it's a bit outside city center (10 min walking distance to stazione alemanni) but there's a busstop and tram station 100 meters away from the hotel
Me and my wife stayed 3 nights .ıt was a very pleasing experience for us . room was clean and comfortable. breakfast was fine.the only downside is it's a bit outside city center (10 min walking distance to stazione alemanni) but there's a busstop and tram station 100 meters away from the hotel so distance was not a problem.

Lovely HotelPosted Jul 15, 2014
It's just a twenty minute walk from the city center and it's an absolutely gorgeous hotel--definitely very old school, but I liked it. The staff was friendly and they had a bar in the hotel for a late night glass of wine.

Dated but still nicePosted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: The free breakfast was very nice.
Cons: Update some of the amenities
Location: Its Florence - enough said.
Good experience. Staff were friendly. As stated, rooms are a bit dated. TV's are old but it was still a great place to stay. We liked the fact its a 2 minute walk to the river. It was a great walk there away from traffic and tourists.

Classical InteriorPosted Jun 12, 2014
Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly always wirh a smile and a genuine desire to help. Rooms were clean and we were upgraded on arrival. Lots of period furniture which set the scene for this most classical of cities. Breakfast was superb and the coffee way too tasty!! No negatives. Really enjoyed our stay. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A pleasant, comfortable and elegant hotel.Posted May 22, 2014
Pros: We enjoyed the hotel's old worldly charm, the comfortable, clean room and the helpful staff.
Cons: No improvement needed.
Location: A bit of walking is needed to get to places of interest, but the taxi rides to such places is not exorbitant or difficult to take.
We found the hotel to be friendly, comfortable, clean and charmingly old worldly. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the restaurant offered very satisfactory breakfasts and dinners. Tony on the front desk was must helpful with directions and Giussepe in the hotel's restaurant was a most gracious and friendly maitre'd.
