“enjoyable stay”

we stayed a week and were impresses with the attitude of the staff who were friendly and efficient. breakfast was included which was a plus in expensive florence. would definitely go back.

Great, friendly staff. Very close the the Accademia bit further from the Duomo but larger rooms because of it. Breakfast good.

“A Nice Find”

The Orto De Medici hotel was a pleasant place to stay and was nicely located near main attractions in Florence. The hotel staff was friendly, and the breakfast that they provide gave me something else to look forward to each morning. The walls to the room, however, were quite thin, so we were able to hear our neighbors when they came in at night, but that is to be expected of older buildings. Overall, it was a great place to stay, and if I ever go to Florence again, I would like to stay at the Orto De Medici.

“European flavor”

I will definitely stay in this hotel again. It has the distinct flavor of a European hotel, but with modern conveniences (i.e.elevator. The hotel's location is off the beaten track which I found to be a positive trait. Many locals are in the bars and trattorie in the neighborhood and some of the best panino/pizza lunch places are 5-10 feet from the hotel entrance. The hotel breakfast is the best I had anywhere in 3 weeks of travel, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very spacious. The front desk folks provided concierge services including obtaining reservations for the Uffizi, the Accademia, and the Bobuli Gardens (for a fee)-- the reservations saved us from waiting in the long lines at the local attractions. If you are lucky, Francesco will be on the desk the day you arrive. He was the best of the front desk personnel and made our stay in this hotel memorable and positive.

“Excellent hotel; good value for money”

The hotel staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly. The building itself is typical of the beautiful area, with stone steps leading to a luxurious living room, conference room and a breakfast room with typical Italian style. The room was spacious with a generously sized bed, plenty of storage room, a flat screen tv and a luxury bathroom typical of a much more expensive hotel.

Great hotel - upgraded to a wonderful 'room with a view' to celebrate special birthday with complimentary bubbles. Nothing was too difficult and the staff were a delight.

We like this hotel very much.It's very beautiful. It's situated in the center of Florence. It was possible to go everywhere in 10 minutes.The personal of the hotel was very provident.

“Very Impressed”

This is a lovely hotel. It's located only 5/10 minutes gentle walk from all of the main attractions, but is on a quiet street. We were ugrdaded to a room (Room 40) with a private balcony overlooking the rooftops of the city. Room and bathroom were very comfortable and spotless. The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. Breakfast was traditional buffet style - fairly plentiful , fresh and tasty. I would definitely stay again.

“Beautiful example of a typical Florence hotel”

My husband and I went to Florence for our wedding anniversary. I took a very long time looking through hotels and their reviews on Expeida and Trip Advisor as we wanted something special, located near the places of interest and not too pricey. I came across the Orto De Medici and could hardly find anyone saying anything bad about it. Well I'm just going to add to that, we were so impressed with everything (and I mean everything)! I rang Expedia instead of booking it on-line and was able to ask if we could have a room with a balcony. When we arrived the recption staff immediately said we have an upgraded room for you (room 81) and this was out the back of the hotel (which has just been renovated) and we had one of the best rooms I have ever stayed in with a lovely big balcony looking back towards the hotel. This was a great place to be as out the front of the hotel you could here the noise of the street but as soon as you came into the back garden it was lovely and quiet. To our right there was a lovely terrace with large sofas and conopys to sit under after a long day of walking where you could order a drink etc. In front of this there were little table and chairs which was where we had breakfast and this led back into the orginial part of the hotel and into the breakfast room if you wished to sit inside. We found the hotel staff extremely helpful when asking for directions, places to eat etc. We only had three days there and didnt want to leave!
