“Nice hotel near all sites and close to bus and rail.”
The room was large and spacious. It was a short walk to all must see places such as the Duomo, Uffizi and Medici Palace and Chapel. It did not disappoint. Breakfast was satisfying as well.
“Recommended”
Close to major attractions on foot: 10 minutes to dom, 15-20 to ufficie. Great all you can eat buffet next to the hotel, wonderful $$$ restaurant around the corner (taverna del bronzino). Helpful receptionists, good breakfast, reasonable prices.
“Jewel hotel in Florence”
Hotel location is fantastic. At once quiet and in the center of all the sites. We wanted to visit a town called Fiesole with beautiful views of Florence and the bus dropped us off around the corner from the hotel. Everything was clean, inviting and our triple room was bigger than we would expect in the States. Definitely a #1 choice for an unforgettable stay in Florence.
“Beware of Room Number 24 and similar”
We had booked a double room, but were given this single room instead. Very small and not refurnished as the rest of the hotel. The bathroom had no curtain, and when we mentioned it to the reception staff, they said we should have asked for one when making the reservation!! They suggested we change a shower for a dip in the bath-tub. A real pity, the hotel has been restored and looks really nice; but look out for this kind of tricks, let alone the help at the front desk.
“I will likely choose another hotel”
Only the Lobby area has been upgraded. The rest of the hotel is getting old and tired. They need to redo the rooms and should consider some sound proofing. Breakfasts were OK. Overall a good position while in Florence. On the whole the staff were helpful. Overpriced for the the accommodation provided. They can do this because of the season and the number of tourists in the city.
“Solid”
Excellent overall. We had some noise in morning due to room being close to breakfast area. Good breakfast, though. Great location.
“Adequate Hotel in Florence”
This hotel is located near the treasures of Florence, but a little farther out than some other hotels. It's about a ten minute walk to the Duomo which is the center of the historic center of Florence. It is a short walk to the train station, which is very convenient for day or side trips. The small lobby contains two nice mac computers which are free to use and were usually available. The hotel offers free internet. Our room was spacious but in need of an update. Nice size closet, good air conditioner, small, rickety elevator, and less than comfortable beds. Breakfast is included and consists of rolls, salami, juice, coffee, cereal and milk, yogurt. The price was lower than other hotels we stayed at in Italy. There is a small laundromat about 1 or 2 blocks away. (Every block in Florence is a different size.) There is a nice bakery about one block away and a few restaurants in the neighborhood that we didn't try. Also one block away is square that has a bus stop. We never took one because we got advice that the best way to get anywhere is to walk. If I go back to Florence, I would stay between the Duomo and the river, because we did walk everywhere, and that location would be more central.
“Extremely happy with all aspects of this hotel!”
This hotel was perfect for our stay in Florence, Italy as it is just blocks from all the major attractions. It is beautiful and clean, and the staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. The breakfast was also very good. We could not have been happier with this hotel choice, and we would highly recommend it.
“Hotel Service was Excellent”
My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was spotless with a gorgeous view. The staff was excellent--any questions or requests were addressed immediately, and when we had a minor problem with our shower, it was taken care of that day. Breakfast was typical--bread/rolls, fruit, cereal, etc. Most major attractions can be reached fairly quickly, but wear comfortable shoes. You can literally take a left as you leave the hotel and go straight to the Ponte Vecchio in about 20 minutes. Definitely try the Ristorante Regginelli across from the Medici Chapels at San Lorenzo. It's just about four blocks from the hotel. Also, buy your tickets for the Uffizi Gallery early--it will save you hours of waiting in line!
“Excellent choice.”
Good place, good location, good staff. We would definitely go back.
