“Great find close to everything but not in a "touristy" location”
We chose the Ponte Vecchio Suites and Spa based on their rating and their price and were very pleased with what we got. Just about two blocks away from the Ponte Vecchio on the Oltrarno (left bank side of the city), it was very easy to walk most everywhere we wanted to go but we weren't in the heart of the main attractions.
The staff was very accommodating and friendly - asking us every day if all was well and if there was anything they could do for us.
The room was larger than we've previously experienced in Europe, including a sitting-room type of area along with the expected bed and bathroom. The kitchenette also included a sink, mini-fridge, two burners and a cupboard full of kitchen items.
The only things we would criticize were the fact that it was difficult to find. As far as we could tell, the road that it is on only exists for a block, preventing it from being listed on any maps we had with us. So print off a good map from GoogleMaps or MapQuest before you leave! Also, there was not a spa as Americans define spa, so the name is a bit misleading, but we didn't find this to be a problem. Merely a bit confusing.
This really is a great place to stay in Florence and we would recommend it to anyone!
