Great "local" hotel, for a great price.

Pros: The friendly and very knowledgeable staff, the clean room, the lovely architecture of the building, large bathroom with bath, proximity to attractions
Cons: The room has a tiled floor which can be a bit cold; a rug next to the bed would be nice. That's it though.
Location: Ask the staff for food recommendations; we got great, well-priced, local food. The Ponte Vecchio is about a 10 minute walk away.

Decent hotel in good location

Posted Oct 10, 2013
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in September while on our honeymoon. We liked the location on the other side of the Arno since it was a little more quiet but still close to everything. The hotel itself was decent and had everything we needed, including free wireless internet but was nothing special. The breakfast they provided each morning was also just okay. There is no elevator and you need to walk up 2 flights of stairs to get to the lobby. The hotel staff was welcoming and receptive to requests. Our first night there the drain in our shower was backed up and not draining well. We told the staff about it in the morning and by the time we got home that day it was completely fixed. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for a decent hotel at a reasonable price.

Comfortable night

We stayed in room 28 - and the bed was so comfortable, and huge. The room is a fair size, there was no view - so the windows stayed shut.

great location & nice hosts

Nice hotel in great location - view of the river, short walk to all the sights, big bed, great (but not cheap) restaurant downstairs, quiet location and excellent gelateria down the road. The only downside was the awful coffee at breakfast, and who cares about that when you have so many great coffee shops in a short walk. Chose to stay at this hotel on the strengths of other reviews and it did not disappoint.
