“Peacefull and beautiful”
This hotel is ubicated in a small town. The view from the hotel is magnificent. The owners are very kind. The restaurant is perfect. Warning: do not go without a car. Walk to the hotel isn't the best idea. Driving is a must.
“The Heart of Tuscany”
The hotel is in the middle of valleys, trees, and a lake. The view from my window could have been a post card. Everyone was extremely nice and helpful going out of their way to speak English. The food was out of this world!
“Great Value”
Really a typical European small hotel room; small shower and very firm beds. This a perfect vacation location however, not that well suited for tourism. Takes a long time to get places, but that's the Tuscan country side. We loved it, lake is three hundred yards away, with a nice little coffee/beer shack on its shores. Overall, was a super value...this is not a five star hotel, but you don't pay five star prices. Staff are very, very friendly, and very helpful.
“Not touristy, lovely and quiet”
The hotel was quiet, small and just what we wanted. It is not one for those who want night life and the whole tourist little bit of England in better weather, most of the people we met spoke only a little English and most menu's were only in Italian. We loved it and the area was beautiful, it was great to see what Tuscany was really like. The hotel room was clean and well maintained if a little small but the view from the window made up for that. The reastaurant at the hotel served high quality food and had a lovely atmosphere.
“Comfortable, but”
Nice clean hotel, ideal for overnight stays. With good restaurant right next door. However the walls are thin and the sound travels through - not ideal if the neighbours are even a bit noisy. Tea and coffee facilities in the room would also be welcome. But nice and clean, and friendly people.
“Excellent place to relax in Tuscany”
This little hotel was one of my favorite places to stay on my 12 day trip to Italy. It is located about 40 minutes from Florence, in one of the most quaint and beautiful parts of the Tuscan countryside. Stay there for several nights if you plan on relaxing, but don't expect a bustling town around it. It is in a town called Vicchio, which is tiny but welcoming. The rooms are very clean and the food at the restaurant is good, when it's open. The hours are a bit mirky and frustrating. We arrived at the hotel at 2:30 only to find that the owner wouldn't return till 4:30 to check us in. So if you do go, keep in mind that the owner is only there 8am-noon and 4:30pm-7pm.
“Dont recommend”
The rooms are very small. You had to walk sideways past everything in your room. The food however in the restaurant is nice. Breakfast was very disappointing. I would not stay here again.
“Nice surroundings and satisfactory hotel for business trip”
I only spent one night at the hotel. It was a business trip. The surroundings were pleasant and the hotel satisfactory.
“too noisy”
The rooms were so sparsely furnished (and very small), no carpeting in the hallways, no noise absorbing surfaces. We could hear every step taken in the hallway, doors being unlocked. We felt like we had to creep around and be quiet. Also the staff spoke very little English and could barely direct us to the train station.
“Stay Away from The Montellieri”
Awful location - dirt road to reach it on top of a hill. To skimp on costs, they don't allow you to pick your breakfast from a buffet - despite free breakfast being included. Only place in Italy where I suffered this situation. Room was for 3 people, yet in reality, there's no way 3 could have stayed there. TV didn't work initially. Heat is turned off during the day in winter. Bathrooms awfully small, inadequate towels supplied. STAY AWAY !
