A Comfortable Week as ItaliansPosted Nov 28, 2013
Pros: The cleanleness, funishings, quite, and ability to live like an Italian for a week.
Location: It had a great resturant next door and was on the bus stop (a 10 minute ride to the the city).
We were very pleasently surprized by the Hotel Rosary Garden. This was our first visit to Italy and the manager / owner was competent and very helpful with: use of local trasportation, planning our car tour of the Chianti countryside and the local resturants. We stayed in a "superior room: with a vaulted sealing; it was large, quite and comfortably funished. A formal sitting room was located across the hall and furnished with cookies and a variety complimentry liquors. European breakfests are served in a comfortable, tastfully furnished room with friendly attentive service and: fresh fruits, pasteries, juices, cereals and yogurts. All of the comforts of home and more. The hotel is located next to a great Italian resturant "The Convivium", with a great delicatessen (where we bought many of our meals).

SuperbPosted Nov 17, 2013
Pros: The location, the personal touches and Monica's charm and helpfulness.
Location: Good restaurants close by, the Osteria and Convivium and the best Gelateria ever on the doorstep. Can thoroughly recommend the Rosary Garden
What a brilliant hotel, Monica and staff made our stay perfect, nothing was too much trouble. Being out of the centre of Florence was just what we wanted and we very much enjoyed walking and discovering Florence on foot.

Cons: Ensure that guests know how to get bus in and out as taxi is very expensive due to the nature of city and its one way system
Location: Good restaurant just next door and a coop supermarket nearby for any essential purchases

A quiet break in FlorencePosted Nov 2, 2013
Pros: It was nice to be staying outside the hustle and bustle in a quiet leafy suburb with quick and convenient city access by bus.
Location: There are local shops and artisan places to eat. Their offer of the free use of bicycles meant for us no sore feet and a great way to see the city.
Our visit to the Rosary Garden Hotel was a delight from start to finish. No request was too much trouble and the staff had a life times knowledge of what to see and where to go, along with the best places to eat. They presented a warm family atmosphere and it felt home from home.

Located in a Florence NeighborhoodPosted Oct 25, 2013
Pros: Helpful hotel staff and location. Close to eateries, grocery store, and bus stops. Nice continental breakfast with excellent coffee and cappuccinos.
Location: This hotel is located in a Florence neighborhood away from the crowded touristy historical district.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful plus they spoke very good English. Which was a big help as my Italian is not good. The rooms were smallish in comparison to American 3-4 star hotels, but nicely appointed and very adequate. If you are looking for a more traditional Italian/Tuscan experience and want to stay in a neighborhood way from the hustle and bustle then you should consider this hotel. But if you want to be a stones throw from the major historical sites, tourist shopping and restaurants (that charge more for the same items) then you should stay in the city center. Lots of quaint Italian restaurants (pizzeria, osteria, trattoria) are located near by the Rosary Garden Hotel. We especially enjoyed the pizzeria (Ristorante Pizzeria La Piazzetta) right next door to the hotel and an osteria located about 2 blocks from the hotel. Really good food and service in both restaurants. Oh and don't forget to ask for the check, (il conto). In Italy the waiter will almost never bring the bill until you ask for it. I have no complaints what so ever about the Rosary Garden Hotel or the staff. We were both pleased with our choice and would stay there again on our next trip to Florence.

Basic and out of the wayPosted Oct 21, 2013
Cons: Bed not made of rock!
Location: nothing, taxi or bus to anything worthwhile.
Hotel was just ok. Extremely hard beds. Not convenient to anything, taxi or bus were the only way into seeing anything. Overall you could have got a hotel at least as good as this in a much better location.

I am sorry my son and I were not here on the week-end you stayed at the Rosary Garden and did not look after your needs personally. Usually we are always at disposal to "pamper" our guests, which is one of the plus of our hotel! However, if you were looking for a hotel in the historical centre, you should have put more attention in your choice: on Expedia you can clearly read "southeast Florence in a residential area, at Km. 3 from the historical centre", so no way to get a wrong idea. On the contrary, if you wish not to be in the historical centre, our area is known as one of the best in town, easy reachable and very well connected by busses.

Nice hotel near everything in VenicePosted Sep 23, 2013
Nice enough hotel. We were very pleased with location. Right on the grand canal by the water taxi stop. Since you are walking and carrying your bags with you to your hotel (no taxis in Venice) it was very convenient to just get off boat and walk a few steps to the hotel. Would have been nice to have a mirror in the room outside of the bathroom as the plug in the bathroom wasn't always reliable working with our adapter. It was wonderful to be able to be able to walk back to our room so conveniently from anything we were doing during the day to rest or drop off packages. The hotel offered us a complimentary trip to Murano to the glass factory which was fabulous! I hope I get back to Venice again someday. If so, I would definitely stay here again!

Better than a 5 stars!Posted Aug 10, 2013
Pros: Service, service, service
Location: Perfect for those who want to visit Tuscany without moving hotel to hotel...
A very charming hotel. We had a little problem with our A/C and they changed our room right away! Everything was perfect starting with the lady who is managing the place. Helpful, the staff proposed ideas to plan our visits, recommend restaurants, etc. Somebody on duty 24 hrs! Breakfast are very good and the cappuccino is great especially during the weekend. Very well localized for those who want to visit all Tuscany like we did! Everything is at 1hour drive or less (except Cinque Terre). 7 nights and we saw all Tuscany without having to move our things from one hotel to an other. Why paying more for a 5 stars hotel when you can get better for less!!! I would recommend them to anyone who wants to feel home in Italy! Avoid it if you want a cold ambiance and a impersonal service...

Rosary GardenPosted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: Charming, staff very friendly, you could purchase bus tickets in the hotel and there was a wonderful restraunt downstairs.
Cons: air-condinioning needed a bit of a boost. Not ADD friendly, as there isn't an elevator.
Location: A little distant from the city center, but the buses were frequent, Wonderful dining near by.
Lovely atmosphere, very accommodating, liqueors and cordials available free as well a tea service and cookies in the lounge.
