“fantastic hotel in florence”

family of four in a huge quad room with shared bathroom....fantastic location, extremely clean room and all bathrooms, quiet hotel with respectful hosts and guests, helpful with all questions, FANTASTIC LOCATION, with reasonable car parking off site that hotel will arrange. a definite return place !!!! we highly recommend staying here and would return again without a second thought. thank you staff of san giovanni !!!

“brilliant birriant hotel”

defn recomend this hotel to one and all...... location is great, and the staff super charming and helpful. Everythings a walking distance, and love the ambiance of the place. Get exact directions before you head out. though, because we had sme trouble identifying the place. love the room and the artwork in the room, the whole place is quaint and the history superb, but dont go there expecting a conventional hotel, with a swanky reception and a large lift!! :))

“Great Location”

San Giovanni was exactly what we needed in Florence; a clean, comfortable place to sleep in the center of town. It's a pretty easy walk from the main train station and the location is exactly as described; just steps from the Duomo. We had a great view of the cathedral from our window. The room was spacious and very clean. The four shared bathrooms were also kept very clean. Free wi-fi available in common areas only; I wish it had worked in the bedrooms. The desk is always staffed and they were very helpful with museum and restaurant information. Breakfast is available upon request (and for a fee), but I cannot comment on it otherwise because we opted for breakfast on the go instead. There is an elevator; it's tiny even by European standards so you'll be making a few trips if you're not traveling alone, but at least it's available! If you're looking for clean, comfortable and safe on a budget, don't look anywhere else; this hotel will be perfect for you.

“Great hotel in perfect location”

Clean, confortable hotel in the perfect location just overlooking the Baptistery it is centrally located with all the major Florence sights easily withing walking distance. The staff was helpful and had information on sights, restaurants, etc. We had a triple with a private bath, and it was quite a large room for European standards. If we ever make it back to Florence, we will be staying here!

I booked the hotel based on the other people's reviews. I have to say, I'm not disappointed at all. The hotel e.mailed me and confirmed my book immediately after I booked it, which was really reasuring. They informed me the opening time and asked me the time of my arrival. I arrived at 2pm, and I did auto check in with instructions they e.mailed to me, no problem at all. The other important thing I want to metion is the location, I don't think I can find anywhere close to the attractions than this hotel. The biggest attraction Duomo is just outside of my window, I have full view of Duomo from my window. As well all walking distance to any other attractions, 5 min to Station SMN, The hotel is a bit old but very clean, The own is very friendly, as well there are wi-fi available in the hall way. Overall I'm very pleased with my stay.

“Great location, ordinary hotel.”

Some rooms were much larger than others. You could see the Duomo from the bedroom window which was fantastic. Our room had a shared bathroom which worked quite well but the shower was dirty. The room was boiling hot so I was very grateful for the fan which was on at all times when we were in the room. Surprisingly they offered free wifi but you really needed to sit in the shared loungeroom as it did not work in the bedroom. The positive side of this little hotel was the quality of the bed which was extremely comfortable and the nice white towels etc that were provided. This hotel is very similar to convent accommodation. For a budget hotel, it is adequate but definitely not luxurious accommodation.
