Beautiful hotel near the Tikal Ruins

Posted Jul 28, 2014
The hotel is beautiful and was my children's favorite. The Monkey tour is exceptional and was a highlight of our trip. The customer service is flawless. Too bad we could only stay one night!

A wonderful place hidden in the rain forest

Posted Apr 24, 2014
Pros: Staff, they are great
Cons: N/A
Location: You are close to Mayan ruins and in the middle of 200 acres of private land in the rain forest
I have traveled to over 70 countries. I have never seen such an outstanding staff at any hotel before. I found they did everything possible to make sure their guess were comfortable and had everything they needed. The staff is always cleaning to make sure everything is perfect for their guess. The hotel is very relaxing, rooms are great, very clean and well stocked. It sits on the edge of a lake where you can see and hear the local wildlife. If you are going to Flores, this hotel is well worth checking out.

This hotel is wonderful! The moment I arrived it seemed I was transported into a magical place. One could stay here to escape the world yet it is easy to access any attractions in Flores area. Beautiful view of the lagoon, great food and howler monkeys! Iara and staff are the best!!

Beautiful hotel, beautiful scenery. Restaurant was expensive and not good, with very limited options.

Las Lagunas is one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Totally worth the money. The rooms, service and location are exceptional.

Nice quiet retreat after a week of craziness.

Great staff. Good value. This was perfect for day trip to Tikal. This is out of Flores by ten minutes. Secluded and private. Rooms on lake have screened decks with hot tubs. Beautiful rooms, gorgeous views. We did the short boat trip around the lake. Fed (habituated) howler monkeys. We ate here and food was really good. Easy ride into Flores for tourist shops, bars and restaurants. We stayed 3 nights and just relaxed. Tikal was spectacular. Guide arranged for disabled access to site so walking around site was doable for less mobile persons.

Beautiful hotel but lacks customer service

Posted Jan 9, 2014
Pros: Location, rooms were gorgeous, and monkey tour.
Cons: Customer service, communication between staff, restaurant staff speed and accuracy, full service spa would be nice since I wanted a mani and pedi
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous however customer service is absolutely terrible. From being laughed at, given incorrect information, being spoken to in a unprofessional manner, and many other things. It's a shame because we loved the hotel but were not able to enjoy our stay for these reasons.

Nice new hotel

Posted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: The looks!
Cons: Food variety and taste could be better.
Location: Is about an hour from Tikal, 10 minutes from Flores Airport and 10 minutes from nice parks such as Ixpanpajul
We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is pretty nice but they need to improve service in the Restaurant and they need to get more food options.

Location and Looks

Posted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: The Master Suites are beautiful and well apointed
Cons: Service and Food could be better!
Location: Is near to the Airport only 10 minutes and less than an hour from the Tikal area.
The location is great! Is very close to the airport and close by the Tikal. Food menus could be more conventional. The food was not that good and service at restaurant is an issue. The Hotel has a great property but it will be nicer if the hotel is given to be managed by an international hotel chain. It could be an Aman Resort only if they change the service.

the pool and the surroundings are very good. The manager of the hotel and his wife were very friendly and helpful. However, the architecture of the place is erratic with the lobby right in the dining room. The plastic roofs are very noisy when it rains. The furniture is a collection of pieces that do not fit together. The food is mediocre. We were the only guests.
